ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
because theres a bug in the api where blizzard tells me that your bag has zero slots.
so instead of believing them and wiping the bag data, i wait for them to get their crap together (which they eventually do) and give me the actual number of slots.
why do i keep losing my edited settings .... this happens about every 10 days for the last month
got 5 errors from opening my bank (jeeves)

Im lossing up to 15 fps, ( 10 fps everytime i have my bag open ) along with some annoying stuttering, tested with my usual packs of addons, and alone, same result in both instances.
Another thing, when im trying to reposition the inventory it resets, this dont happen with all my characters only with my main and two another alts ( most of them have 4x 30 slot bags)
This Issues begun with the Version 3.07.25
its the tower buffs from the broken shore, they trigger constant updates.
theres an alpha with a fix in it that people have said works ok - and its working for me, so you could try that and see if it works for you.
Thank You, It works.
hi i have a problem with all fishing poles, they are all set to default as equipable items and cant move them to any other category, not even a custom one
go into edit mode and make sure it hasnt been hard coded to a system category, ie when you click on the item there should only be one category listed, not two. if there are two then click on the bottom one to reset it
can you no longer set up ark inventory per character?
you can, just make sure in the profiles that you use different layouts, styles and category sets if you want each toon to have completely different setups
Hi there, thanks for all your work on the mod! I'm trying to disable the menu and bag changer/refresh/etc buttons, but wasn't able to find the control for this. I have the title hidden in the bag style, but for a while now this hasn't hidden these buttons, just the other elements. Did the control for the buttons move somewhere I'm missing? Thanks for your help!
when you hide the title bar you get a smaller set of main icons, no way to hide those
Ah, got it. Before I had it set up to show only bag/item icons and nothing else, and turned on other stuff (i.e. bag changer) as I needed it. Feature request, then? :)
Love the addon, but I do have a couple of suggestions. If these options are already available, I probably just don't know where.
1 - I miss having a "deposit all reagents" button at the bank.
2 - Is there a way we could get lesser used categories to collapse (not hide)? Like say, click on the bar name and have it collapse the bar contents except the name. Click on the name again to expand. That kind of thing.
3 - Is it possible to resize the dimensions of each bar individually?
Thanks and keep up the great work.
1. right click on the restack icon
2. can you go with hiding them and then right click on the refresh button to toggle displaying all the hidden items?
3. not yet. i was trying to work out a way to add a min/max option for bar width and height but i havent figured it out yet. it would also potentially do some very weird things to your layout
1. Thanks so much. I figured I just probably didn't know how.
2. That could work if there was a quick way to hide them all again. Still, having the hide option a little more readily accessible from the main window and preferably undoable on a per bar basis would be a handy way to clean things up a bit. Just a thought.
3. It's a little weird to try to describe. I used to use the Baggins addon before I found this one. It was very handy at doing this. Maybe take a look at it for ideas. It just makes things a bit more compact, especially when combined with my number 2 suggestion.
Don't get me wrong, I still like this addon best. I just thought of a couple tweaks is all.
Heavy memory usage :(
the tradeoff is increased memory use vs significant fps drop (if i dont cache it i have to retrieve and build it each time), so its a fairly obvious choice which way to go.
if you want it to use less RAM, change the config to not save your item data - that way each toon will only have to keep its own data in memory.
do you even have a memory issue?
Tooltip count is still not working at the auction house for recipes except enchanting formulas. Tooltip count works fine for gear, mats, pets, enchanting formulas etc but all other profession recipes do not show a tooltip count. Works fine if the recipe is in you bag or bank but for some odd reason it just wont show at the auction house apart from the enchanting formulas.
I've tested this with no other addons loaded & the issue still persists
Any ideas as it worked fine in the past. I first noticed it not working back in november so not sure if something changed around that time.
the item link coming back from the tooltip is invalid for a lot of the recipes on the AH but doesnt seem to be affecting the enchanting ones (which is weird)
i've hooked setauctionitem specifically like ive done for some other tooltip types that return invalid item links so it will be fixed in the next release
theres an alpha up with the changes in it if you want to test them out
