ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
no as its a secure action. you can drag them to your action bar and use them from there.
I see, but workarounds seem possible. For example ToyBox addon creates a inventory-like window with toys and you can use them directly from there:
(Great addon though!)
i updated to 3.07.04 and had huge fps Drops (unplayable).
Back on ArkInventory-3.07.03 all is fine.
fps drop while doing?
disable everything but arkinventory and does it still happen?
btw, there is a lag spike at around 20s on the first login and another 4-6 every 5 seconds after that. at least thats what happens on my machine - with no mods loaded at all
I'm seeing the same lag spikes after first login.
Thanks for the bank toggle fix :).
One minor cosmetic issue, Im getting unknown blizzard bag id 12 and 13 messages when I open all bags at the bank. Ive tracked it down to FrameXML\ContainerFrame.lua:1256 looping from 1 to NUM_CONTAINER_FRAMES which is 13, which is strange as there are only 11 visible bags. Blizzards OpenBag() checks GetContainerNumSlots(id) > 0, id 12 and 13 return 0 (I wonder what they are).
Also, searching isnt working right for me. Im seeing if I can track it down myself now.
EDIT: Dumped out the data in Frame_Search_Table_Refresh and found a lot of items and toys with nil names and hyperlinks. Seems there was a GetItemInfo() issue with uncached data. Loaded in the characters with the affected items in the bank and the toybox and it seems to have fixed that. Also, found 2 lines of weird data causing blank lines in search. One is a copper:0 item with a value of 12875g1s that shows a tooltip for that amount. The other is currency:392 honor points with a texture of Interface\Icons\ that produces a green square.
i reported the 13 bank slots to blizzard, presume its a bug or were getting two more slots. i rewrote the code around it to use the normal bag/bank constants instead
copper:0 is an amount of money in your mailbox - i should probably not include those in the search
i also found an issue with the scanning and the item tooltip not being ready, changed the code to rescan the bags later to pick up the data when it is, which will hopefully stop the empty names
Hello, I was wondering if there was a way to have the Reagent Bank and the regular Bank be in separate spots... I'm going to look through the wikia in a second, but I'm pretty bad at looking for data so I figured I'd post this first...
Thank you in advance for your help!
Edit: I looked all over the website and I have no idea if this is a thing that can happen.. x.x
sorry, there isnt, i merged them into the same window.
you can assign the entire reagent bank "bag" into a specific bar if you need them all in one spot.
or you can right click on the reagent bank bag and select isolate, that will hide all the other bank bags, when youre done, right click it again and select display all
Recently its been causing major FPS Drops i go from 120+ fps to 12
Sometimes when you use the cleanup bank/bag function it makes the game dc. It may because they are hotfix the game on the run atm(??). So it's not happening all the time but making it lag more than normal when it sorts.
right click on the restack icon and try changing it to the restack function, it might be a bit better
So I've been using Arkinventory for like 100 years and every new alt gets the default profile just fine. Until I made a demon hunter. Do I need to copy something from another alt's WTF settings? Everything is enabled and it looks like I just installed Arkinv for the first time! Weirdness.
the default profile might not be what youre actually using for your other characters any more, check what one of them has to be sure, and make the demon hunter use the same one
I checked the profiles and deleted some random ones that I had. All the chars are using Default and the bank config is all the same. The DH's list of addons (not sure what file I was looking at) had Arkinventory disabled so I edited that to enable. Still looks wrong but meh, not gonna really play the DH. Just wanted the experience. I'll go make a regular alt and see if this persists.
e: yup, made a goblin rogue and same problem. Only has the Default profile listed. Guess the update messed up something! Will try to copy an old lua file.
e2: old lua file was a year old! Didn't help - made other chars messed up (no customization). So I'll live with this for now.
e3: okay found the problem. You were right - there was two Default profiles! Was looking at the wrong spot. All is well again. Thanks Arkayenro. <3
I have the same issue. Have checked all my other characters. They all use the Default profile, same as the demon hunter. However, on my demon hunter the bag just acts as one big bag with everything. Moreover, after having loaded my demon hunter, the Default profile got reset completely so all characters had only one big bag. Last resort i copied over an old lua file which fixed the other characters, but not the demon hunter and now the Default profile stayed correct. So it looks like it's an issue that has already been resolved as there have been a couple of updates for arkinventory the last couple of weeks, if i'm not mistaken. Anyway, i was able to select the correct profile for the demon hunter and now it seems to work.
There seems to be no control over the shape or size of the bag, I am unable to do anything. Please fix soon, my life is all outta sorts now!
theres a width and height setting, in the layout section, both appear to be working ok
make sure you have set the control options set correctly
So, nothing I do fixes the problems that have arose with Legion. I've tried reverting. I've tried moving an older config file. Nothing works. Now, all my categories are completely gone. This seems like something that you would have noticed before rolling it out to us. Years of having this addon, and now it's gone.
