ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Hey, no item I inspect is in any kind of PeriodicTable. Do I have to download it separately? I'm using the German client btw., is that not supported by PeriodicTable?
Hey,
I have updated to beta 8, but after the update (i came from "ArkInventory-3.07.00_BETA_7" after the update im no longer able to move things around in my own guild bank, and i cant move an item via the mouse to a empty slot in the guild bank, every thing else works (of the things i have tested).
So i rolled back from beta 8 to beta 7, and i again was able to move stuff around.
[EDIT]
It is still there in v 3.07.02
Have to put overide guildbank to open it? Plz fix, i love arkinventory for all other bags except guildbank.
After the latest update EVERYTHING is reset. I lost all my configurations and I cannot open my bank or guild bank at all even when I use the option not to override them. When I disable arkinventory I can open them normaly. I can see my offline bank and guildbank frames but right clicking on the bankers does nothing. Also many item icons are wrong or are missing.
Edit : Reverted back to 3.06 and everything works fine. Even the icons work normally again.
So magically since the first update for Legion Prepatch, Ark Inventory is working again and sorting items properly, but it thinks some items aren't actually what they are. I realized after uploading the screenshot that you can't see my Cursor but I am mousing over the Auto-Repairing Autoclave yellow trinket in the third group from the bottom right.
When I link the item in chat, it not only links the Autoclave but also the Jaina's Locket that it thinks it is. The blank spaces also have items in them. Its very confusing. I can shift click a blank space or left click to pick up an item and theres actually one there, rather than an empty space.

I really want to make this work. Its been years upon years of using this addon and I feel terrible playing without it. No other bag addon compares to me.
I am having trouble transfering my configurations to other characters...
I copy from profile but nothing happens.
Is that a bug or am I supposed to configure it on every single char?
Activating/Deactivating rules in the "Rules" window doesnt work.
Tried release and beta 8 version.
I remember using shift-click on them to do so, but that doesnt work.
The symbols for active/inactive in the "Rules" window are also missing.
However clicking in config-mode on a "line" opens up the context menu where i can assign rules or categories.
In the context menu all the rules appear and can be activated/deactivated and assigned.
But scrolling down to rule 500 takes a lot of time :(
Searching for it in the rules window would be SO much faster
Thank You for making this work, and the step by step guide!!! so hard to play with out this addon.
Latest update is giving error when equipping fishing Tackle Box.
ArkInventory: WARNING>bag [4] in location 1 [Bag] type is unknown, queuing for rescan
Lure Master Tackle Box
thats normal (the game hasnt handed over the information to me yet so i queue it up to ask again), so long as it doesnt keep spitting the warning out all the time its not an issue
there might be an option to disable that warning (cant remember if i put one in or not)
So I got a chance to check this after the updates today to v3.07.02. The problem is still occurring and occurs every time something goes in the bag.
I have this message constantly on certain bank bags on some of my characters
Ever since installing Beta 7, I get this in my chat when I log in or reload the UI.

If I turn off Ark, it doesn't happen. Any idea what's going on?
its your favourite toys - i left some debug code in place, which is removed in beta 8
Beta 7 introduces this error when I go to the 'profiles' tab.

BUG: In the edit box for writing Rules, the checkbox for "Enabled" is missing. So, there is no way to enable new Rules.
not a bug, rules are global, their enabled/disable status is per category set.
you enable/disable a rule in edit mode when you assign them to a bar.
