ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Hello...
I wonder if the Addon will stay that way right now or if it is an error that is happening?
For when I set my bag, all information is changing my bank and my guild bank, and before it was not that way.
3.06.17 is pretty buggy for me ...I'm going to revert back to 3.06.16 (or .15) and see if I can get it stable again. If so, I'll see if I can make a coherent bug report.
But, for what it's worth, this is the first time I *ever* remember this addon being buggy for me ....and I've used it for at least 5 years now ..heh.
sorry, i was in the middle of major code changes and blizzard dropped the pre-patch (i didnt realise it was that close) so you ended up with code that was finished in a hurry and had bugs
Quick question how do i make a rule for the items i buy from vendor, but i have to wait 2 hours before i can sell them back again ?
I have tried the >> tooltip ( "You may sell" ) <<
But seams not to have any effect tho.
unfortunately you cant use that tooltip text as the scanner code doesnt get that information as it uses the general item, not the specific one in your bags
I appreciate your addon very much. And the Legion start hiccups seem to be fixed for now except one bugbear right now: My gold amount only shows the Silver and Copper values in the summery. The value for my on character gold is correct in the bag screen but the mouse over summery (for that and all characters) in the bag view and a databroker are broken for me.
its fixed in 30700 beta (if you want to try that)
Thanks. All fix'd for now. But did you sneakily change the close "x"? Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but I could've sworn it looked different earlier. :D
I love the new update :D
Could you perhaps put the "show hidden" option back to the menu option (green bag icon). I tend to hide my gear category so that I don't vendor my stuff, but now to view and equip/move it out of bank I have to go edit->find category->rclick->category->hide. Then when I want to hide it again I have to repeat the process instead of the old drop down where you could just show hidden.
Thanks
right click on the refresh icon, it moved to there
Hi, i have a problem. i create a new char (gnom hunter), but the default Profil don't work. I use it on all toons.
That's because profiles don't save the settings that control how your bags look or which layout they use in the new version of AI.
To help fix this issue, I actually made an addon to make the profiles behave more like they used to for now: http://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/ark-inventory-profiles
It's not perfect, but it gets the job done while we wait to see if Arkayenro is going to change his stance on Profiles. I understand what he was trying to accomplish, but I think he took it too far by not having the profiles control which layout, style and categoryset is being used, thus why I made my addon.
the acedb profiles didnt do what i needed sp i removed them, i was going to code a replacement for them but then pre-legion dropped and i forgot i hadnt done it and i didnt notice when i was testing. theyre in the 30700 beta though.
As far as I can by now find my Bankwindow at nearly all may chars except one (a relatively new B11-Paladin) by now are crippled. I tried all the usual tipps to fix this, but no avail.
I made screenshot, but![Crippled Bankwindow]()
I hope the Upload works.
I'm seeing some bag content is not grouped by custom categories soon after I login. If I wait and open bags again, then the categories are used to arrange the bag content. Sometimes I have to /reload to get the bag customization to show correctly. There are no LUA errors.
For some reason, turning off Carbonite maps causes Arkinventory in my game to not load at all. Its weird trying to figure this one out.
It no longer seems to automatically refresh where the empty inventory slots go when I sell an item from a category? Nor does it automatically compress the spaces and keep things organized alphabetically, and if equipping a new item will swap the item being replaced into the spot of the item being equipped, possibly out of order or in the wrong category.
First, thx for keeping this AMAZING addon alive :)
Among other things I like that you can colour unusable items. Is there any way to colour armor that I could use but that would not make sense to use? For example, is it possible for a pala to have all cloth/leather/mail armor coloured red? Thx in advance!
Also getting the issue with MASSIVE FPS lag (WoW essentially freezes) when opening mail in the mailbox, currently using the latest (3.06.15) version, had it in previous versions post the prepatch updates too (never had the issue before prepatch though).
No issues what so ever if ArkInventory isn't turned on, and even as the only addon loaded, the problem persists.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help trying to fix it!
