ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Guys, give Adibags a try while you wait on arkinventory.
If it helps the troubleshooting, if you click on an item the tooltip does appear.
The items do appear if you click them, but then disappear immediately.
All bag spaces are bright bright green. You can mouse over and see the tool tips, you can even see the quantities. Reloading the game doesn't change it.
Highlighting a bag turns all items a darker shade of green, not a giant change in color but notacible. Do the items appear no. I went through all the options and that doesn't help either.
If you go into edit mode the buttons for each bar are also green, and the item textures do show up when you click them.
im at work so this isnt going to get fixed for at least 12 hours
if all the textures are really bright green then that texture is missing - its possible that blizzard are caching the textures now so you dont have them when you start - does it still do it after a /reload or exit?
it could also be a bug in the bag highlight code - if you could open the bag changer and mouseover a bag, see if it highlights and then brings them all back, or not.
its also possible that its a background issue, you may want to try changing the items background from texture to just a plain colour and see if that helps (it probably wont)
No luck, Ark. Tried a /reload, relogging, no change.
Bag changer also didn't change anything.
Played around in config: Nothing there seems to have much effect. Tried Settings->Window->Background, played around in Frames, and under both Items and Bars. Nothing I did had ANY effect, even Clumping, which should've changed the way the window was drawn.
I think the fault lies higher up than just display of items.
Worth noting though; if you click and hold on an item, the icon are still there. Item counts show through the green.
Also:
If I type a search in the box for anything, even something that doesn't exist, it moves to a darker green color and I can see all of the items in my bag.
I think it's worth noting that BugSack isn't trapping an AI errors.
Thanks for the reply and the ETA. Ark is the best so I'm sure a lot of them will switch back.
No need to be rude or put words in my mouth. We all love Ark and want to see it fixed soon.
Same, I'll be switching back once Ark gets a chance to fix it!
I'm one of the people who downloaded Bagnon today because ArkInventory is broken. It's better than the default, but it doesn't compare to ArkInventory. I'll definitely be switching back to this one as soon as it's updated.
lol, i dont care how many people use, or dont use, my mod.
whatever the issue is it'll get fixed because im still using the mod.
They'll probably switch back. Ark is just amazing ^^
How dare an addon author have an outside job and not fix things immediately just to please you. Yes, the green is annoying, but it's not like it will be like this permanently. I've tried many bag mods and none of them are anywhere near as good. When I saw the green, I disabled AI and went to the default ElvUI bag layout...30 seconds later I switched back. Even with the green ArkInventory is still superior.
Thanks for checking in Arkayenro, so many addon authors never post an ETA for a fix, so it's appreciated.
You better hurry up and fix this. Bag*** is rising up the "Top Downloads" list so I think people are switching rapidly.
yea nice addon, green sucks for now, but if you just search for it in the search, or just type anything 1 letter, and the green goes away kinda and you can see your stuff for now
ha, I'm using it with green icons too. can't imagine NOT.
I tried (/shameface) a different addon but immediately switched back to this one. I'd love an update to get rid of glowing green inventory slots but your addon is still fantastic
Green icon bug. Still better than WOW standard bags though
