ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Hi Arkayenro.
Any chance you can fix this bug as seen in the screenshot below?
This has been going on for over a year but I never took the time to report it. I alway assumed someone else would have noticed it or even yourself. A few times per day the values change in the guild $ area. It used to only happen maybe once a day etc but lately it's been happening much more that I finally decided to report it myself.
Even when I only had the personal guild (no other guilds just my personal bank) this would happen but in those times all that would happen is ArkInventory would "forget" and show all zeros for the guild bank $. It's when I belong to more than one guild that the values constantly jump around alot.
Thanks Arkayenro. Best bag addon ever for sure. 4yrs + using this!

EDIT: The only correct value in all these screenshots is the Separtist Alliance for 110,000 gold. All the other values are obtained from other players using ArkInventory. (I assume this is true since I never ever open guild banks I don't own personally.) <- I have no interest in adding all their crap to my tooltips so I never go to the other guild banks.
I eventually figured that out. It's either in a default category or a manual category or assigned to a category by a rule. They're all mutually exclusive.
Would be nice though if we could add manual, arbitrary "tags" to items that could be referenced by the rules engine.
yes, primary assginment = category > rule > default, first one "wins".
trying to figure out why you need it, how exactly would you use tags? eg if i created a tag( ) rule function (and allowed an item to have multiple tags) what sort of rule would you write? and why?
It would be nice if we could reference a category from within a rule such as:
equip("chest") and (outfit() or category("keepsake"))
equip("legs") and (outfit() or category("keepsake"))
the problem is that the code for this only allows for one assignment, ie if an item matches a category then it doesnt check if it matches a rule.
categories and rules are only for item assignment, theyre not layout filters like in some of the other mods.
I often keep equipment that isn't really part of a gear set. For instance I might keep several staves around just for looks.Transmogrification certainly expanded this.
The inventory layout I have in mind has separate bars for each equipment slot, but only for gear that's part of my permanent collection. That would mean it's either in an Outfitter set or it's an item I deem a "keepsake".
Currently there are two ways of going about this, but both are sort of cumbersome. One is to wedge every piece of gear into an outfitter set and use the outfit() rule function, but that would clutter up my Outfitter list. The other is to create a custom category for every equipment slot, include it in the appropriate bar and manually add the items. Either method would get the result I was looking for, but I was hoping for a simpler, more elegant way such as: equip("two-hands") and (outfit() or tag("keepsake")).
Note: I'm not expecting you to add a feature based on my desire to do this. I'm just explaining how I got to wanting such a thing since you asked. I'm sure there are other possibilities that would be opened up by having a "tag" system to augment the rules engine, but this was how I got there.
im not sure which titles you mean but yes, if youre getting squares or question marks instead of characters it usually means the font your using doent have that codepage. just point it back to one of the blizzard fonts.
After 5.0.4 titles in Russian see like "?????????", not letters. Look like codepage of font broken or not have cyrillic symbols at all.
May be setting "choose font" will be some solution.
Sorry for my english.
Having the same issues as those below in regards to Auction House LAG. i post a lot, around 5-900 auctions a day, its taken me acouple of weeks to figure out that it was AI causeing me the lag grief. i have turned of almost every other add on i have to pin point it, but with AI running i cant post on the AH, it takes an extra hour and is infuriating. It affects auctionator, TSM and auctioneer all of which i assumed was the problem until this mornig i turned off AI and hey presto NO MORE LAG!!!!! AI def causing the problem, and i will be sore missed without it, its such a wonderful addition to my core Addon group
This is exactly what is happening to me too (with my comments below), I have turned off every addon one at a time, and it's definately AI that is doing it. Now that I have upgraded to the most recent version, I'm no longer getting any LUA errors....but the lag is still there. I'm literally getting 15-25 seconds of UI freezing every 5 or so seconds, it's taking forever to do anything at the AH (mailbox is now fine).
i dont know what to say, with only AI running i just posted 24 auctions (not a lot but enough that the issue should have shown up) and spun my character in a circle (held down the left arrow), with the bag open, there were no lag spikes at all while those auctions were posted.
try this. open the config and go to controls > auctions - and disable the monitor option, that will stop AI from scanning the AH (ie no code will run while at the AH, except for normal bag updates)
This fixed it for me. It's a good thing, too, because I tried a couple different bag addons and neither came close in terms of feature and design. All is right in the world again. FWIW - it does sound like Blizzard screwed a bunch of stuff up with the AH sorting methods this patch, so there probably isn't even a lot you can do to fix it.
Thanks for the workaround, though. Back in business
This fixed it for me too! YAY!
Every time I get a ready check in raid, I get the following message on screen - seems like its probably an Ace3 issue however.
Message: AceTimer-3.0: CancelTimer(handle[, silent]): 'table: 0x1b3eef518' - no such timer registered

this would be an issue with grid, either update the mod or report it to the author
Try editing a rule. This made all theg rules work properly for me.
I find that my some rules for my item sets are not working, these were working in the previous version and SOME of them are working, some are not.
Any suggestions?
hello all ... I installed the latest version, but I have problems with the color of the item in the bag, look..this images...

As you can see the edges of the items have changed color as the BOE and the epic GEMS, can you help me pls...
tx
I'm having this same issue. Only disabling ArkInventory relieves the lag. The issue seems to be caused when actually POSTING items, so I suspect it has something to do with the items leaving the bag inventory.
The new releases are causing an extreme amount of lag when I try to post auctions and get my mail. This is been happening for the last few updates, and I keep having to revert to an earlier version. I saw one other commentor below had the same issue. I'm not sure what is causing it, not seeing any lua errors. I hope whatever it is can be resolved though, b/c I LOVE your addon and I find it vital to my AH business :)
