ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
in the config, under controls, guild bank tab, override = off
Hi, I LOVE this addon and hate playing without it when my computer is being repaired. However...Is there any way I can disable JUST the guildbank part? I prefer the addon over the normal bank, but I am in charge of keeping it organized and I have had many complaints when I have organized it using this addon. ><
Oh dear, dispmiss the quote below... lmao -- I feel like a dunce.. somehow "Self only" got checked and since I use a global profile... it affected all my characters.. Not sure how that happened or how I even overlooked that... *picard facepalm moment*
Naturally, I only notice this AFTER posting about the issue... >.<
Love this addon, I try other bag addons every once and a while and none can fill my need to sort my bags the way ArkInventory does. Also, this is one of the only addons I can find that will display your guild's gold total in a LDB tool tip. Seriously, I searched for a long time one day, trying all sorts of currency display addons. Thank you so much for this small thing also. Love the build-in mount/companion support also.
Cheers!
The Swift Springstrider mount doesnt seem to show if youve learned it unlike the other mounts. It records if you have it in your bag / bank just not as a mount.
Was wondering if there is there any way to have this show if learned like the other mounts / pets?
itll be in the next relase but if you need it now then edit ArkInventoryCompanion.lua
and add this line somewhere just after line 40;
Since updating to 3.0.89 from 3.0.88, all Soulbound items are defult sorted as 'not soulbound'
Also, all my items lost their Custom categories. The categories are all there, but all my items no longer have the category set to them.
I love this addon, I've been using it for 2-3 years, but seriously, but this sorta sucks. It means I have to go through a few hundred items and try to remember how I had it setup, not to mention Soulbound items are labeled as "not soulbound" anymore.
Is this a known issue? If this was an intentional fix, I can live with that, I just dont want to update again one day to find out I have to do it all over again.
EDIT:
Reverted to 3.0.88 and it fixed everything in terms of my items. They all have their correct labeling now :) ALSO it fixed the whole Soulbound issue.
I'm stumped.
I have an outfit created in Item Rack named "Fishing" and then I have a rule (per the FAQ) in ArkInventory as:
outfit("Fishing")
However, this rule is not working. I tried a "test" outfit with other random equipment (and saved it as Test) and still no luck.
I would think it should be simple. I can't think of what I might be doing wrong. Any ideas? Thanks!
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I have all of my outfits (Fishing, Geared, etc) in a single bag, using the following rule: outfit().
I just noticed you are capitalizing the first letter of the outfit name, did you try making it lowercase? Sometimes that matters. /shrug
Here is the link to the outfit rule description, just in case: http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/RuleFunction_Outfit
Good Luck :)
I have a quick question that I haven't been able to find an answer for: Is it (or could it be) possible to create a rule that uses a custom category as one of it parameters?
For clarification: Since transmog hit, I find myself holding on to gear that I may want to use to transmog. Some is soulbound and some isn't. I have a custom category called "Transmog" so it is all in one bag, but now I'm finding that I want to separate out the soulbound from the non-soulbound items. My initial thought was to create one rule that checked for soulbound + my custom "Transmog" category, and then a second for non-soulbound + "Transmog" category.
Any thoughts, ideas or help would be great and I'm open to alternate suggestions, of course :)
Thanks.
some reason the bag rule function was removed, which is why i'm stuck using an outdated version as well
the bag( ) rule function has been put back in, let me know if it doesnt work
Great add on. I refuse to upgrade from upgrade from 3.02.82 to a new version because all my rules dotn work anymore.
Is that normal ? I just decided to try the 3.02.88 and boom every single rules dont work anymore. Profiles still there .. rules still there ... everythign is "setup like it was" but nothign work.
is that normal ? Do I need to redo every single ruling or I forgot to "enable soemthing"
Thank you for your support.
Exemple of a simple rules not workign anymore (If I want to see my 5 bags seperatly)...
bag( 1 )
bag( 2 )
bag( 3 )
bag( 4 )
bag( 5 )
Just try to redo my rules for the bags to understand whats going on base on the following website.
http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/RuleFunction_Bag
if i do this rule ---> bag( 1 )
I get this messsage ....
ArkInventory: ERROR> Error validating rule 2, invalid formula: [string "return( bag( 1 ) and loc( "bag" ) )"]:1: attempt to call global 'bag' (a nil value)
If i switch back to 3.02.82 everythign work fine.
It seem to bug since the introduction of the void storage since 3.02.82 dont support the void storage.
Hope you can help me out, I really want to upgrade to stay up to date but its crazy that a simple rule like "spliting per bag" doesnt work anymore ... :(
After quiting WoW for more than a year I reinstalled the game and your addon today. If I remember correctly items that couldn't be used by a character (say mail/plate on a rogue) had this red glow over them. I noticed this isn't the case anymore. Is this a bug, is it a setting that I forgot or do I remember this incorrectly?
Thank you.
I've just started getting the following error:
Interface\AddOns\Outfitter\Outfitter.lua:7537: attempt to index field 'Settings' (a nil value)
The rules in question both use the outfit() function; I've recently updated Outfitter
I can't seem to figure out what the custom categories are for, and how you use them. There is nothing in the wiki about it.
Also, is there a PT set or category for holiday items? eg. Love is in the Air, Hallow's End, etc... I'm trying to sort my inventory so all of those type of items appear on one bar.
I _LOVE_ this addon. But yesterday I had to disable for a while.
I was getting a lot of LUA errors regarding CallbackHandler-1.0.lua. At least that was what the stack trace was showing. It seems it was conflicting with a Grid module called GridStatusTankCooldowns. Something related to comparing 'ipair' with a nill value.
Please let me know how I can send you the trace stuff to help.
Also, I am using a CPU profiler and it shows AI as the highest CPU 'consumer' in terms of seconds it has kept the CPU busy. Is this affect my FPS during raiding or it's just when I have AI open?
thanks again for this wonderful mod /cheer
At the moment Ark is getting me two small issues I wonder if anyone else has come across them.
It is (well was) blocking the 'unlock void storage' dialog box so for a few hours I didn't understand why I couldn't use the void storage (I had not unlocked it yet)
Also it is blocking reforging from working. I can put an item in the slot but it will not let me select the stat to reforge. It just looks greyed out.
Both problems go away when I disable the ArkInventory addon (and only this addon, I leave all others on)
