ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
At the moment you are able to make quite many tabs, to sort your gear.
In my case, i have one for all enchanting mats, one for trash items, one for quest items, one for meat, one for food, one for flasks, etc.
The thing im missing is a tab for the items used in Blizzards Equipment Manager.
I'd like to explain this.
I have a Tank item Set. A DPS item Set and a PvP item Set.
All 3 are sharing exact the same bars in ArkInventory -> Soulbound items.
I could seperate them by creating extra bars, and custom Categories for each item, but after every upgrade of my gear i would have to change each new item again. To seperate it from the others.
So, would it be possible to, lets say implent that feature that thers a Category in ArkInventory, named after each set available in Equipment Manager?
Just in case, you like the idea dont forget that there are items used in 2 or more Item-Sets. Like a Weapon is used in DPS-Set, wich is used in PVP too. Like Shadowmorun :)
And that all should work witht he addon Outfitter.
If you could implent this feature, then my inventory would be fully sorted!
And all new soulbound and not soulbound Items would have their own place, and wouldnt be tossed into my current Set items.
Tyvm :)

if you have a scrollwheel mouse you can use the scrollwheel to change values for slider menus (which seem to be the most annoying at this)
my only request is - could you please make it use less memory? it uses about 9mb for me... not that it really lags, but i like low memory usage addons on the whole
theres not really a lot i can do to reduce the memory footprint at this point.
Thx for the reply.
True that there isnt much we may want to do with those tabs but was wondering why they were there. I do like the idea of seperating my slow and fast mounts from my flying ones but thats just me :P
As for read only I can access them fine via my character screen but not using AI.
But I don't understand how it is indexed. I see a version (not the same for all my characters), then, "profileKeys" (that is what you have in game) and a very long list for all settings of your characters). Good luck, 48 xxx lines, i think you'd better to start over.
And for my problem, no suggestions?
Here is an illustration:

Left is Guild and don't work (I have reseted all the rules to have only my rule and the default one).
Right is my bag wich works: The feasts goes in category I want (thanks to their good modified ID: 3!14).
But since I'm working on my rules, I 'm in trouble.
ex: One of my rules is:
type( "consumable" ) and tooltip( "spell damage" ) and not subtype( "flask" )
No problem, I have a feast in it (with a new ID: 3!14) BUT when I do the same in guild's bank, the same feast keep its ID 437 and no way to change that anywhere. So, the rule stays empty.
I tried to apply "control" from bag: no difference, the ID stays always the same 437.
After 3 hours of tests, reload and uninstall/reinstall I don't know what I can do. Any idea?
(sorry my english is not very easy, so, please, no abreviations. Thanks ! n_n)
enable edit mode, click on the item in question, and reset its category to default (click on the default category text) - which will then allow it to end up under your rule
is the progile itself actually disappearing? ie can you switch to another profile and then back to your original one?
all i can think is that something is stopping it from being saved properly on game exit or its been corrupted on game load.
if you make the changes you need, then exit the game cleanly you can make a backup of the savedvariables file then you'll at least have something to restore.
