ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Vinns - I was having the same problem... in English. I had used the Curse Client to install the update. And no matter what I tried I could not get the ArkInventory bag to show up - just the Blizzard bag(s). In desperation, I downloaded it from the mirror and installed it myself - and it works just fine now.
You might give that a try if you used the Curse Client...
It seems I have a big problem on my french version of WoW
I tried to replace my old arkinventory folder (2.10g) by the new one(2.11a), and nothing happened in game. By nothing I mean that everything load fine, even the addon, but when I open my bag or bank, i can just have normal blizzard frame, nothing more, like arkinventory was not installed. I try with all my addon desactivated, that's the same problem.
Even when i put my old version who was working (2.10g), i got the same problem and need to remove some config files to let it work again.
Any clue ? I love this addon and don't want to change for the moment.
Thx for your help !
setup a keybindingg to ArkInventory Bags, then use that to open the bags, click on the manu and choose the hidden frames > blizzard option, tick the windows you want ai to replace
First, thank you for the fix, I can now use my bags again, but the warning message comes up *every* time I open them, can this be switched off? If so, how?
Also, how do I turn off the guild bank AI bit please?
Thank you in advance.
dark blue overlay (actually whatever colour your background is set to) issue has been "fixed" in 2.12a. i've added a workaround the program will do every time it sees the window go above framelevel 126. until blizzard fix the actual issue you may see the warning message come up every now and then.
the guild bank interface is not meant as a total replacement of blizzards and it's new, how about you let me actually finish it (if ever) if you dont like it feel free to not use it.
you can also enable/disable ai on a per window basis.
I found that keeping a copy of the AI add on on my desktop and just deleteing the old one and putting an new one in each time is a quick fix to the blue overlay, but the problem comes back after i log back in. Any fix in sight?
Bugs_The menu is buged and not letting you move the slider bars more than once. The guild bank is buged and wont let u withdraw money or deposet and you canot look at the logs. Itemrack gets an error when taking stuff out of AI. If you would fix this addon i would be happy and so would everyone els.
Same problem as the two below. I can't access any of my bags because everything is covered in dark blue
Yup... dark blue overlay preventing me from accessing bags and bank
Same problem :/ even if i delete the saved variables for ArkInventory :/
Yup. Please allow us to remove the guildbank portion of AI... the blizz UI there is good, and AI... well, it's not horrible but I'd rather not use it.
Aye. Please allow an option to disable AI on the guild bank screen.
Awesome work all around though. I love this addon.
Exactly the same problem as Kazren.
=(
Please allow us to disable AI for the Guild bank.
I gotta agree that Blizzard's Guildbank is fine enough.. Arkinventory is great other ways but it fucks up the guild bank :S
This Bag Mod is SWEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!! only one thing Needs to be done. The Mod Wont let you Despot Money into the Guild Bank, & look at the Log List . Can thins be Added to this Mod Pleases!!!
I can't get the menu for this addon to work properly. I move the cursor down the list, but when it gets to something that has a sliding bar with numbers it stops showing anything else I scroll over unless I move the cursor over the bar. I also cannot change the scale, width, etc. anymore because when I go to the box with the sliding bar, that box disappears.
Im not sure whats going on with AI, but first it was working fine, then i went to check the bank and i couldnt select anything from it, so I downloaded the latest version, and now both my inventory and my bank are blocked off. All the items are masked with a dark blue, and not even tooltips show. I dont get any error messages though. Any thoughts?
I'll add to the growing list of people that love this Add-on, but want to see it leave the Guild Bank as is.
At least provide an option to allow us to choose the way we see the Guild Bank without having to hack the .lua
@pabohoney1
Thanks for the how-to on removing this 'feature'.
i like the guildbank.....u just need to put the gold buttons on it. i cant put money in :(
