ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
/ai misc alert disable
/ai misc alert short
youre getting the alert because something in your UI is pushing AI windows to high up the frame stack where normally the background starts to overlap the foreground so you may lose all tooltips, click ability, etc, etc, the bugfix fixes it but it's only a temporary fix until the window is pushed up too high again.
Thank you!
Howdy guys. I am an absolute novice when it comes to all things WoW really. Was wondering if there is a collection of savedvariables or such that has arkinventory all set up with rules and bag slots and so on. I have no idea what I am doing and I cant seem to get it to work to any degree of satisfaction.
I'm running build 55655 from wowace and have discovered that Arkinventory blocks the equip of bags to open bag slots in both the bank or player. When you drop a bag into a slot, you can hear the "kerchunk" sound effect, but the popup to accept binding the bag to the slot is suppressed.
Thought you'ld like to know.
Been using this mod for awhile now. The only problem I have now is since 2.3 with the Guild Bank tabs. The tabs themself I have no problem with. What I don't like is that I cannot see any of the Logs while I have AI turned on. Anyone know if there is a way to set AI up so that it works with everything BUT Guild Bank?
REALLY like your work. Been using it for quite awhile now. One minor problem I'm having. On occasion, in Edit Mode, I lose the ability to "move" things. I'll open the "Move Trash to", go over to the slider, and as soon as I touch the slider, the window closes. It doesn't always do it, and it goes away on restart. Kind of a small thing, but kind of annoying. Thought you'd like to know. =)
Again, like the mod alot. Thanks.
i'm looking at a new menu system (waterfall) but it's fairly different to the one i'm currently using (dewdrop) so it may take a bit of time to get it setup.

hi, sry for my bad englisch, but is there any possibility to see the guild bank log with arkinventory? Didn't recognize any button or preference for this.
ark nice prog at all!!! love it
it's disabled by default, it's not the best way to interact - it's ok to view though. so you need to enable it via menu > hide blizzard > guild bank (should ticked if you want ai to do that part)
v.2.12 should toggle from most of the blizzard keybindings, i only just noticed that they'd changed their functionality, they used to have separate open / toggle functions but have since changed everything to use the toggle function instead.
Hi,
Love, love, love this addon - one tiny thing which I must have turned off myself because Blizz's own bags and other bag addons do it - BUT I can't seem to find a way to make Ark bags close with shift B as well as open - makes quick open and closes btn combats difficult. I can't seem ot find anywhere that I have turned this off ...
Cheers.
Hi,
Nice mod, however I have 2 issues. The first is when clicking on the Bank icon, a frame opens but the notation at the bottom says NO DATA. I see nothing in my bank. Switching characters is not possible as the notation is "No other character data to choose from".
When using the Guild bank icon, I get the following Lua Error:
Interface\Addons\ArkInventory\ArkInventory.lua:5422:attempt to index local 'b' (a nil value)
Just thought I'd post that information to help with the debugging. I really need the mod to work with the bank (one of the reasons I'm using it).
Thanks for your help
Just installed for the first time. Getting an error first time I open my backpack, and after that I never have any tooltips.
Message: ..\FrameXML\ContainerFrame.lua line 609:
attempt to index local 'self' (a nil value)
Debug:
..\FrameXML\ContainerFrame.lua:609: TooltipQuestMob_ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter()
TooltipQuestMob\TooltipQuestMob.lua:66: ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter()
ArkInventory\ArkInventory.lua:4671: Frame_Item_OnEnter()
[string "*:OnEnter"]:1:
[string "*:OnEnter"]:1
I also had one point where I couldn't get menus to go more than two deep. Had to do a UI reload to fix it. Only tooltip related mods that I use are the ones in the Auctioneer suite.
upggrade TooltipQuestMob it's pre 2.2. any mod that touches tooltips (ai doesnt) has to have been upgraded after 2.2 or it will not work
Doh, forgot about that one, and it's right there too.
He hasn't updated it yet, can you give me an idea what needs to be altered?
ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter() was changed to ContainerFrameItemButton_OnEnter(self)
ie you now pass in the frame being entered, if you don't it barfs - this was changed in 2.2
That fixed the problem, thanks.
Suggestion, could you add an option to switch the contents of two bars? Doing it by hand can be kinda frustrating if there's a lot of categories assigned to a bar.
The fix works great for me. Thanks Ark for the awsome mod and support for it. I know it must be hard to do in your free time and i think we all appreciate it.
