ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
pt( "Tradeskill.Mat.ByProfession.Enchanting" )
This PT does not include "Small Dream Shard"? The same rule works for other enchanting mats, at least the cataclysm ones.
Also, that PT includes Volatiles, any good way to exclude those? Good way meaning another category for example, I have already excluded them by name.
standard lua logic rules, use not xxx to reverse whatever xxx is, eg;
equip( ) and not sb( )
Thanks, I had a DUH moment when I read this lol.
A minor Request:
I play a rogue and was thinking it would be handy to have a button on the Inventory Window for lock picking.
TIA
I got a wonderful idea, currently you can open the search UI of arkinventory and search for an item, and that search goes across all characters.
SO I could search for dreadmist to find my cloth BOA items, hover over the item and it shows who has it.
My IDEA is that you can type BOA into the search, and it will list ALL BOA items, there are actually a LOT of request for an addon that tracks BOA items, Arkinventory already keeps a list of where everything is, a feature like this would be priceless!
you could even add a little button to the search UI to list the BOAs because a lot of people would prolly not be aware of the new feature if you added it.
Having the same issue as others, when I update and go to use an item directly from my bag I get the "disable/ignore" pop up. Rolled back to version 3.02.85 and have no issue, updated again to 3.02.86, same issue. Rinsed and repeated again, just to be sure, and no issue with 3.02.85 installed.
Didn't know about the taint log until I came here to post this comment / see if anything had been changed. I'll try that and see what it gets.
btw, thank you very much for what you do with this addon. It is by far my top add on in the game and I really appreciate all your time and work on it.
EDIT: And as always happens when you take your car to the mechanic, it's not doing it any longer. So, guess I'm good. Thanks again, please to be ignoring my comment (except the thanks part) now.
my problem is that ive never run into the issue on any of my toons, so its hard to tell why others are getting it, and as i said before arkinventory doesnt actually replace any of blizzards secure code, it it secure hooked though but thats how youre supposed to do it when you dont want to cause tainting, so its hard to even understand how its happening in the first place.
edit: i enabled it on mine and while i dont get the issue i did find one instance where i left out a local and tainted three generic global variables, its possible one of those is used securely at some point and ends up causing the issue, so ive fixed that and will upload the new version.
Anyone having issue using a Hearthstone from inside the AI bag? Got the popup that I had to disable AI to use the Hearthstone. Found this same type of issue on another char trying to change a glyph.
Seems that using an item from a bag is having issue. Any suggestion on a fix?
the glyph thing is 100% not AI, its another mod tainting the dropdown.
the hearthstone, while unlikely, could possibly be from AI, youd need to enable taint logging and either read the taint.log file yourself to see which mod is tainting blizzards secure code or send it to me. Ai doesnt use any secure blizzard code at all, which is why i can 99% know its not ai doing it - but you never know what blizzard changes.
Hi i have read the FAQ and the problem i have is deleting old guild/characters curencies how do i do that?
could anyone help please???
regards
so this http://code.google.com/p/arkinventory/wiki/UserGuide_HowTo_EraseData didnt help?
the guild bank money amount may stay - its fixed in version 5 but thats still alpha - but currencies should always go away if you delete a toons data.
there not going away at bud :(
Having the same issue when trying to right click bandages to heal.
Disabling Arkinventory and it works - so it can't be another addon.
Same with right click on the item to port to home city.
sorry, never had that happen, and theres not a lot in the item click code, so i'll need the Logs\taint.log file to be able to figure out where/what is going wrong.
in the chat window enter this /console taintLog 2
exit the game
start the game
do whatever it is that causes ai to taint
exit the game
send me the taint.log file
do a /console taintLog 0 the next time you start the game to disable the taint logging
Last night, when doing a Black Temple transmorg run, both my friend and I had Ark Inventory trigger the standard Blizzard "this mod is being bad disable/ignore" pop up during Najentus when trying to click a spine to break the shield. We've never had it all previous times we've fought it so maybe some obscure bug came in during the last update.
its from another mod, just that its using one of the common ace libraries and AI being the first mod to load those gets the blame for any taint. if you disable AI another mod will get the blame.
The interface of the addon itself could be much cleaner, but this is one of the most useful addons out there, thanks a lot :D
Greets,
I have been looking for a solution for the pet list that appears in Bazooka via the lib icon. I have enough pets that the list falls off the bottom of the screen after "S", and I don't use a mouse with a scroll wheel. I don't know if there's a way to work around it; or if there was a list like there is for mounts, where you can config which ones summon when you're in land-only zones, and which ones will summon for fly-capable zones, etc.
Also, when I right click the lib icon in Bazooka and move my mouse over the pet options I can see; the "Select/Deselect/Summon" box will quickly get longer and longer until the box's text falls off the side of my screen. I'm not sure how to fix that.
