ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I'm guessing he means TradeskillMaster_Shopping? It's another addon
in 5.04 ark is bug with tradeskill- shopping.
shopping is a skill?
probably better off posting in their forums - with a strack trace of the error
you can use the 3.3 beta until i make some changes to the live version, i can keep pets and mounts until panderia goes live
Where is ark as far as the release of 5.04, are we good or is this one of my addons I am going to have to disable?
no idea, do you have backups of your saved variables? wow makes a single .bak you *may* be able to use (backup your data before using it)
I logged on today and all of my presets are gone. Everything. Can I get it back?
This was a great mod, but it clearly was the cause of significant UI lag when I used it 3 months ago. Raid combat was unplayable! Has it significantly improved?
Just activate the currency tracking in the Blizzard default currency window :)
Hi,
how can I let ArkInventory show the tokens like in the screenshots on this page?
Thanks
Hi, I set up some rules to sort my inventory, two of them being:
1st: q( 0 ) 2nd: equip() and not soulbound() and not equip("Tabard") and not q( 0 )
the first one is meant for every grey item, the second one is for every BoE gear item that is neither grey nor a tabard. it used to work just fine, except that one item I recently found: http://www.wowdb.com/items/13816-fine-longsword
For whatever reason, that item is sorted to the BoE items, and not the the grey items, where it should be. when I go to edit mode and click on it, I shows me: default: system > trash and current rule: Rule > 4. BoE.
Why? it is grey, so it is supposed to be assigned to the Rule "grey items", isn't it? I tried to use "trash()" instead of "q( 0 )", or both combined with an "or", but it didn't work, it remains in the BoE section ... Any Idea? (edit: I might add, that other grey items seem to work....)
A second thing I'm wondering ... I'm currently farming texts in silithus, and those mobs drop plenty of those cultist gear, which is common quality. It is correctly sorted in the BoE section (although it doesn't bind at all, but it is "not soulbound", so the rule works here), but the border around the item in the inventory is sometimes green, sometimes white. It also happens with some other items - see that screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/OQaF4.png Every single item - except that sword, which is the above mentioned grey item - is common quality. even the sword should have a grey border, not a white border. something is very strange here...
/edit: after farming a little more, it seems like independend how much items I have, always the last (most bottom right) one is white, the others are green. at least this is what I observer for having 6 cultist cowls, 5 robes 5 shoulders. at other items it seems to be random. a random bracer is white bordered, a random robe is green bordered...
No clue for your first problem, Arkayenro might know...
For the second one, it sometimes happens, I don't really know why and I didn't look into it but a simple /rl usually fixes it for me ;)
The Periodic Table Set library given with this addon seems to be missing many files (set items for example, etc.). My knowledge in lua is almost zero, how do I use the latest version if I download it from wowace.com (http://www.wowace.com/addons/libperiodictable-3-1/) ?
as far as im aware you just unzip everything into the addons folder for the game, the lib is just another mod. just make sure you enable it.
so long as its kept up to date then that version will be used instead of any older versions other mods came with
Thanks !
2 other issues I'm facing :
1) I applied a sort method for my bags and my bank. In my bank, it has overriden most rules I had set up (but not all of them). In my bags, it stayed clean. I don't understand why, and I can't find a way to revert back...
2) Say an item answers to both a custom category (used in the bank) and a rule (used in bags). When placed in the bank, it goes where it's supposed to, but in the bags, it remains in the system default bag. Is it working as intended ? Is there a workaround ?
To give a specific example : I have a "Tier 11" rule (based on PTSet) and a "Tier 11" custom category (for belt, boots, bracers that aren't in the PTset but match the looks). These are used to sort stuff in my bank. I also have a "Tank armor" tt=("dodge","parry") rule to sort items in my bags. The tanking belt that goes with my Tier11 set, is part of the Tier11 custom category, and contains "dodge" in the tooltip. In the bank, it will correctly be placed with the Tier11 gear, but in my bags, it stays in the System Default bag instead of going among the Tank Gear.
Curseforge manages its repositories using Git and SVN so having different branches for a single project is absolutely normal and I believe wowmatrix users are the only one to have had that problem as it was probably wrongly tagged as release there, Curse didn't have that error and manual downloading... well if you miss the huge BETA in its name you probably shouldn't do it manually :P
Is it just me or has this addon stopped working? I logged on today with the default WoW bags and couldnt get it to work. I had to uninstall and download another addon.
As far as I know there was no error, just stopped working.
Any ideas?
Just signed in and it's completely broken for me too. Using bagnon (a sad substitute) until the fix comes in.
did either of you download the beta version? that only works on the beta servers - it doesnt generate an error but it does state it when loading.
if youre using the curse client make sure its set to release versions only for AI (on the live game), if you have the beta then its ok to set that to download betas
