ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Well, what's happening is, say I post an item, sometimes it'll just think that the item has left my possession and it tells me I have none. Other times, after an item has expired and I collect it from my mailbox, it thinks that I now have one in my bag and have one on the ah.
I have tried going to the ah and going under my auctions tab and scrolling through it in order to refresh Arkinventory, but that only works like 1 out of 10 times.
I appriciate the reply btw.
Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I am having problems with the item count feature in regards to items I have/don't have on the auction house. Sometimes on an items tool tip, it will say that I have one on the ah when I don't and It works the opposite way to by saying that I don't have any on the ah when I actually do. Any help on a possible fix/workaround would be appriciated.
was thinking how that could have happened.
the guild gold amount is available at any time so any toon in a guild will, at minimum, get the gold value without needing to visit the vault.
its odd that all those guilds have the same amount so i presumed it was either corrupted data or something really weird going on, yet the last image shows different amounts for each guild?
Awww Arkayenro, you seemed to have skipped over my reply below #4027.
hello I have a problem with the client in the Italian rules do not work, I am going crazy, can someone help me pls .... advice?
whats the rule you have thats not working?
place some rules ... but do not understand why the blue are in the same box of green .... how do I fix pls ... perhaps some rule mistake? or sort system?
http://s8.postimage.org/7eyxfxxid/Rulegreen.jpg
and
http://s8.postimage.org/ofvltuep1/Ruleblu.jpg
in fact first sees the rarity of the item (green, blue, epic, and legendary) should then see if soulbound or not, and seeing that blue and should not put it in the box of green .... the rule works like this?
or maybe the rule is written differently?
I'd like to do that all the greens that I take, and are soulbound, go in the box of greens, blues ... always soulbound, go in the blue box ... the same for the legendary ... and the BoE, ranging BoE box (green, blue, and epic (purple)) ... all ... and hard to do?
that should work, can you pick up the blue item and swap it with another item, its possible the stored information is wrong and needs to be updated.
edit: looking again, bar 45 does not have the blue rule assigned to it, just the system bop category. check bar 46, make sure you havent put the blue rule there.
check the options under settings > bag > items > border
make sure you have a style, its enabled and the cutoff isnt too high
Having a slight problem. The item type glow effects are not working for my personal bags. They work fine for guild bank and bank, but when i find a new item, it has no glow effect(green, blue, purple). If i put the item into the guild bank and take it out again, it shows up fine. Any ideas what might be the problem?
thank you very much for the work around with the Auction House. Disabling it worked a treat No More Lag.
I am using bazooka LDB display addon and I have it show empty bagslots like 5/86. I noticed that, if one of my bags is empty it shows as 0/22, 5/64. Isnt it suppose to show like 5/86?
22 slot profession bag? the ldb object will separate skill slots from normal slots - i think theres an option in there to ignore them if you just want an overall count.
you can also try moving your bags around in the slots to see if it updates the values correctly
Its normal bags. I use Bazooka as LDB display.
Here is a picture of how it looks in the LDB addon. http://imageshack.us/a/img341/5601/wowscrnshot091612195610.jpg
Its like, if there are empty bags, they get their own display in LDB instead of a total count. I cant find anywhere in the LDB addon to enable total count. It wasnt an issue before 5.0.4.
Hi Arkayenro.
Any chance you can fix this bug as seen in the screenshot below?
This has been going on for over a year but I never took the time to report it. I alway assumed someone else would have noticed it or even yourself. A few times per day the values change in the guild $ area. It used to only happen maybe once a day etc but lately it's been happening much more that I finally decided to report it myself.
Even when I only had the personal guild (no other guilds just my personal bank) this would happen but in those times all that would happen is ArkInventory would "forget" and show all zeros for the guild bank $. It's when I belong to more than one guild that the values constantly jump around alot.
Thanks Arkayenro. Best bag addon ever for sure. 4yrs + using this!

EDIT: The only correct value in all these screenshots is the Separtist Alliance for 110,000 gold. All the other values are obtained from other players using ArkInventory. (I assume this is true since I never ever open guild banks I don't own personally.) <- I have no interest in adding all their crap to my tooltips so I never go to the other guild banks.
I eventually figured that out. It's either in a default category or a manual category or assigned to a category by a rule. They're all mutually exclusive.
Would be nice though if we could add manual, arbitrary "tags" to items that could be referenced by the rules engine.
It would be nice if we could reference a category from within a rule such as:
equip("chest") and (outfit() or category("keepsake"))
equip("legs") and (outfit() or category("keepsake"))
yes, primary assginment = category > rule > default, first one "wins".
trying to figure out why you need it, how exactly would you use tags? eg if i created a tag( ) rule function (and allowed an item to have multiple tags) what sort of rule would you write? and why?
the problem is that the code for this only allows for one assignment, ie if an item matches a category then it doesnt check if it matches a rule.
categories and rules are only for item assignment, theyre not layout filters like in some of the other mods.
I often keep equipment that isn't really part of a gear set. For instance I might keep several staves around just for looks.Transmogrification certainly expanded this.
The inventory layout I have in mind has separate bars for each equipment slot, but only for gear that's part of my permanent collection. That would mean it's either in an Outfitter set or it's an item I deem a "keepsake".
Currently there are two ways of going about this, but both are sort of cumbersome. One is to wedge every piece of gear into an outfitter set and use the outfit() rule function, but that would clutter up my Outfitter list. The other is to create a custom category for every equipment slot, include it in the appropriate bar and manually add the items. Either method would get the result I was looking for, but I was hoping for a simpler, more elegant way such as: equip("two-hands") and (outfit() or tag("keepsake")).
Note: I'm not expecting you to add a feature based on my desire to do this. I'm just explaining how I got to wanting such a thing since you asked. I'm sure there are other possibilities that would be opened up by having a "tag" system to augment the rules engine, but this was how I got there.
