ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
Maybe I'm just so stupid and/or blind, but I have no idea how to setup sorting so tank sets go in one window and healer set goes in another.
I know how to add an item separately and define it to be a "Tank" item, but it should be possible to just make a rule for itemsets in the default blizz ui right?
I can't figure out how!
I love ArkInventory and I use it to the fullest!
This is my friends UI also using ArkInventory. Greatest addon ever.
Yes, it seems I can't get the tooltip function to pickup anything from the "Equipment Sets" line in the tooltip. Please help :)
go into edit mode and mouseover any item that would normally have that text in it - if its not there then another mod is adding it and i cant see it.
just use the rule function outfit( "OutfitName" ) instead
add a rule, use the code outfit( "OutfitName" ) OutfitName is case sensitive and must match exactly (be it in blizzard, outfitter or item rack)
once you have the rule just put that onto any bar
sorry, bad logic on that line, forgot to put the rest of it in brackets. will fix it when i get home tonight
you can change line 456 to this if you want to fix it before then
if unit and ( UnitIsWildBattlePet( unit ) or UnitIsOtherPlayersBattlePet( unit ) or UnitIsBattlePetCompanion( unit ) ) then
In a mid of a raid with bags closed, and all the day.

3.03.19 will print your existing pet links next to the ones youre about to battle if the quality is equal or higher
I noticed this addon prints the pet names and rarity to chat frame and also a [unknown] if I haven't cught the pet yet. I love this. however its still missing one little thing and I wonder if you can/want to add this at some point. I cant from ArkInventory tell what rarity of the pet I got is so I dont know if it is rarity upgrade. Check the addon "Battle Pet - Quality Notifier" to see what I mean. Also I can't find a setting to turn your notification off so if I use that addon instead I get double the info. Is there a way?
Hi
I think the recent changes broke the tracking element.
I always use the /ai track item command for my gathering profs and find it invaluable.
Recently the display (in Bazooka bar) show the small wow icon and a count that never moves.
If I use the right click menu and add/remove the item it shows the correct number in bags but never changes (e.g. gather more of the item herb)
Would be great if this could be checked and fixed :)
sorry, i missed this, will try to remember to check (i dont really use this feature much)
not that i know of, mines still working. check the tooltip settings for item counts, make sure the vault option is enabled.
I don't see a "Vault" under Item Counts in the Tooltips section. But I'm not refering to the vault (paid extra storage) bank, I'm refering to an actual guild bank (I started a guild on one of my toons soely for the guild bank storage). I also have my other toons in an actual guild, I don't see either guild bank showing up on my list anymore, only what my toons have in their bags and in their personal banks. Under Item Counts what I have checked is Enabled, Faction Only, Guild Bank, and Show Tabs (Self Only is the only one *not* checked). Also, I do have the updated version (according to the Curse Client)
EDIT: OK, Disreguard the above statement. After backing out of the settings I now see my guild bank info. I guess I just had to go into the settings for them to be recognised.. oh well, atleast it's back, thanks.
First off, thank you for this addon, it's quickly become one of my favorites. With that said, did you disable something? One of my addons (and I'm pretty sure it's this one) also showed items I had in my guild bank. This was really important to me because I have a personal guild bank I use for storing all of my extra stuff and it was nice to be able to see how much of the item I had in that guild.
Please include a way to turn off the battlepet chat text at the start of fights. I appreciate your efforts to provide another benefit but this is information I don't want in my chat box. Thanks.
its already in there, check the config > messages/alerts section
you have version 30316, you need to upgrade to 30317 or higher
I apologize, the Curse Client said I was updated!
For a few days now, I get this error every time I log in, the first time I open my bag:

I'm assuming no one else is having trouble since I'm the first one to mention it, so I'm not sure where to figure out what's wrong.
only checking for soulbound and a quality of 7 (heirloom) i think
i've added a category and rule functions for it in the next version
Yeah, I've got the heirloom rule going, it doesn't separate the BoA's unless it's specifically an heirloom. Thanks for the add in next version! Woo hoo! Love this addon, couldn't live without it!
