ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua

Getting an "unknown blizzard bag id - -2" this morning after updating to the latest Classic version. Any ideas as to why?
Sorry, this is the Swatter I'm getting:
ArkInventoryClassicStorage.lua line 394: table index is nil
EDIT: I guess there's no Classic version anymore. Backed up my rules, uninstalled, removed the old adding, reinstalled, all is good now.
Sorry to be nitpicky. But if you have Bag Changer toggled on for the bank, the bags cover up the text: 0/0 Unknown, 76/76 Bag.
It seems the bags (icons) aren't properly positioned like they are for the Inventory pane.
EDIT: This appears to happen AFTER you toggle Bag Changer off then back on. When you first open the Bank UI, it's properly centered.
looks like the game didnt actually resize the parent frame in time and my centering function was getting a height of 1 instead of its actual size so anchored them in the wrong place
i've moved the centering call until after the parent is shown and it seems to be ok
will be in the next release
Keyring is found if you go to the "toggle location" at the top of the bag window.
Using the latest version for Retail, and also having fully deleted my entire Ark rules ans saved variables.
Metal and stone - Sorting rule does not work, at all, not alone or just not in use. tried new character mailed over some monelite.
and it's the same with herbalism Doesn't work, This has been like this for me since atleast 20th of november when i posted about it first and then it had been
like that for a while and bothering me, and someone also replied to my post that this was happening to them too.
Tried disabling all addons and this still happens even with Ark only enabled...
what makes this worse is that manually creating a rule to assign minerals and herbs with specific names and whatnot and putting them
as rank 1 still does not move the mineral into the correct bag.
is this just happening to a small number of people or actually to a decent amount of people?
cause this is super annoying and clutters up my bags fairly easily...
would love a way to fix this or if you find something in the coding that might be causing this...
> Metal and stone - Sorting rule does not work
whats the rule formula?
is the rule enabled?
in edit mode click on some monolite - what category does it say its assigned to? are two categories displayed (default and assigned)?
> manually creating a rule to assign minerals and herbs with specific names and whatnot and putting them as rank 1 still does not move the mineral into the correct bag.
this is either the rule formula is wrong, the rule is not enabled, or the item has been assigned to a custom or system category (which overrides rules)
> is this just happening to a small number of people or actually to a decent amount of people?
must be small, no ones lodging any issues about it.
In reply to Arkayenro:
i am definitely seeing this as well, happening to all the crafting reagents
majority of crafting mats seem to be being incorrectly allocated as crafing skill not trade good as they are ending up in the bar i have for skills not bar for trade goods, if i remove a trade skill from the bar it's mats go back into the default bar
here is the rub (1) it is inconsistant, leystone on one character is in correct bar, on another character it is not, (2) some items are in the correct bar, though very few, most are on the skills bar

Blizz bank bag ui also opens when at bank. clicking the close button on it closes the ark bank ui, but the bliz bank bag ui stays on until i hit esc.
sounds like you have another inventory mod installed that is opening the bank - as i dont open it i also do not close it.
i've already catered for TSM and some other mods that do the same thing so if you can work out which mod it is i can add it to the list
In reply to Arkayenro:
CT Mods CT_Library.
It has bag automation built in, but has a toggle to disable it in its options.
In reply to raulfin:
Did you check the 'disable this' option or go through and uncheck each option for bag automation with in CT Mod?
When I tried the 'master disable', CTMod, threw an error. But if I go through and uncheck each option for the bags, Ark now works fine.
In reply to Arkayenro:
Hey, I am getting this issue when opening my bank interface too. I am using GW2 UI which also reskins bags. The error is "code issue - function for [HookOpenAllBags:GwBankFrame] was not found!".
its doing a bit more than just reskinning. i'll create an exception for it so it doesnt conflict. i presume its just replacing the bank frame?
In reply to Arkayenro:
Yup, pretty much that. Thank you for looking into it, I appreciate you taking the time :)
Is there a way to transfer my profile / saved variables from ArkInvClassic to ArkInv? ArkInvClassic is bugging out, so I swapped it over but now I have to redo all my rules.
in the savedvariables folder there would be an ArkInventoryClassic.lua file.
edit it and change (in the first line) ARKINVDBCLASSIC to ARKINVDB and save it.
rename that to ArkInventory.lua (youll probably have to either rename/delete the current arkinventory.lua file)
that should let you use what you had setup before
In reply to Arkayenro:
Tried doing this (renaming the arkinvclassic savedvar + changing the first line), but am now getting an error that causes the addon to not show any inventory and the bag bar is populated with "ERR" - i.e. rendering the addon unusable. (Menus etc seems to work) Using 3.09.08.
edit: if of any help, my current "ArkInventory.acedb.global.option.version" dumps to "30611"
edit2: realizing that was set during launch, looking in the savedvar from arkinventory classic, the option.version is saved as "10004"
