ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I have a strange bug at the moment. Sometimes ArkInventory can't count right any more. For example: I'm pointing at a random object in my inventory and ArkInventory tells me that "Toon A" (the char I'm on with right now) has 17 pieces in his bag and 20 in the bank. "Toon B" has 40 pieces in the bank etc. BUT "Toon A" has 23 pieces in his bags. So ArkInventory tells me I have 17 in my bag while I'm pointing to a stack of 23. All other values are correct. This happens with different items every now and then. Normally this problem "fixes" itself in about 2 or 3 minutes, but why does it even happen? Until now it only happened with ArkInventory seeing not enough items, never had the case where ArkInventory saw more items than I actually had.
First of all, this addon is amazing. I have been using it for 5+ years and cannot play without it. It is hands down my #1 all time favorite, and I run dozens of them.
Now onto my issue. At some point this week all of my customized settings just stopped working. It is as if I had just downloaded the addon for the first time. The same thing happened on my laptop, so I can only assume it isn't specific to me. Everything is now piled into Category 1. Has anyone else experienced this?
I was out of town earlier this week, so my best guess is that the Tuesday maintenance broke it somehow. I disabled all other addons but it still occurred, so I am comfortable ruling out an addon conflict. It doesn't look like the addon itself has been updated since July, so we should be able to rule that out as well. Just looking for a confirmation that I am not the only one suffering from Arkinventory withdrawal. Thanks!
i think it might be just you and your sv file got corrupted

you may have new items enabled and assigned to a bar, that will shove anything the game has flagged as new into that bar regardless of any other assignment. if the item has a soft pulsing white internal border then its new
Thanks for the reply.
I do have new items assigned to specific bars. The issue is when I have a stack in that bar and I get a new item of that stack, it pulls it out of that bar and places it in the general stack. It stays there for several minutes, then goes back to its assigned bar.
In the past it would just put that new item in the stack that was in its own bar without throwing that stack back into the general area.
Love the addon! I've been away from wow for 2 years and came back a month ago -- glad to be back! My Arkinventory has been giving me an issue since my return. I have items organized by using 'edit mode' and for the most part everything looks good until there is a change to one of those stacks.
If I add or remove an item to a stack it throws that entire stack (and the extra item if I'm separating) back into the general portion of my bags. Eventually it will update and place those items back into their designated area but it coule be 2-3 minutes. Hitting refresh doesn't help either.
I've fiddled around with settings (config -> settings -> Window: Sorting) and tested 'on window open' and 'Instant' but neither fixed the issue. Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to increase the number of slots per row? I tried changing the "Per Row" under the Settings>Bars submenu, but that didn't do anything. I dragged it to 1, nothing changed - dragged it to 40, and it popped back to 16 in the text line under the slider. To better explain, when I open my bank, each row has 16 slots on it. I'd like to increaase it from 16 slots to possibly 20 or 24 or higher. I seem to remember being able to do this at some point, but I can't find it anymore.
Thank you. I feel stupid for not remembering that. It's not like I haven't been using Ark for over six years or anything. lol
This is probably an issue with guild banks in general. When I try to put a lot of stuff in my GBank really fast, it just suddenly stops putting stuff in and I have to slowly put them in. I think it's either a restriction Blizz made or it's just the "nature of the beast" of that feature in WoW.
I open my guild bank. I click on the Reagent Bag and then click "deposit all reagents". At that point maybe one or two items go in or none at all. I then have to physically move each of the items from my bag into the reagent section of the guild bank. I do have the current version. Any suggestions? Thanks! :)
right click "Restack" in your personal bag and there is a cleanup function. Alternatively and more easier, click the bank restack and it should just happen.
How do i move reagents automatically? i do not see a button for it ans TSM isn't popping up either.
I have a small feature request: change the slot icon of empty profession bag slots to the profession icon (or at least change the color of the icon rather than the border). I use the border colors so I can differentiante between my profession bags but the borders are very faint.
I'm having a weird bug where items keep getting placed in bar 16. It doesn't matter what I have the item set to, it gets tossed in bar 16 and stuck there. Sometimes the items will get unstuck and go in the correct section but sometimes I have to completely exit the game and come back to get them to cooperate. I really don't want to clear out all my settings and start fresh is there anything else I can try before going to that extreme?
Edit: I cleared bar 16 and now everything is going into my main bar... Here's a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/dPmid68.jpg As you can tell I have bar 24 setup for custom -> ret but it's all going in bar 1 (it was all going in bar 16 until I cleared it). This isn't just for custom items but everything I pickup.
Edit2: After uninstalling/reinstalling and setting everything back up I was still having trouble. I figured out what was causing the issue though! I enabled "New Items" and apparently it's glitched in Windows 10? It kept overriding items as "New Item" even when they weren't new and moving it into whatever bag I had setup for "New Items". Completely disabling "New Item" seemed to fix the issue.
hey there, thanks for your great work so far. i´m missing one thing that used to work some time ago. if u open your crafting book u could once see the amount of items u got by mouseover the item, but this is no longer supported, i´d love to get this feature back
blizzard broke it a while back (the API returns an incorrect itemlink) and havent gotten around to fixing it
There seems to be issues with the crl().
For example this rule: 'type( "consumable" ) and subtype ( "food & drink", "potion", "scroll" ) and not clr( 10 )' matches "Scroll of Protection VII", but not "Runic Mana Potion" and they both require level 70 to use.
If I take the same rule and remove the not then it swaps and matches the potion, but not the scroll. I have a problem with using the crl() with armor as well. For example 'type( "armor", "weapon" ) and not clr( 10 )' does match items that require my level to use. Even looking in the debuf info it shows the correct Item Level (Use), but still doesn't match properly work.
Firstly, love the addon, it's great! Secondly, I think I found a bug(feature? :) ) when moving a Bar in the Edit Mode.
eg. moving a bar from position 2 to position 5:
This happens when using a used or unused Bar for Move Complete. Also tried inserting a bar and using the new bar for the move complete, but the same thing happened.
Thanks again for the great addon!
If you got into Edit mode and right click the item in question, you can change the category of the item to that of any of the others, or to a self-defined category, by selecting a category under the 'Assignable Categories' header.
In regards to the Hearthstones, I'd suggest making a user-defined category perhaps called 'Teleport' and assign that to the bar and the items.
Hope that makes sense! :)
