ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
I have two accounts. Is there anyway to show items across both of them?
TY
not easily, wow accounts dont share the same variables and the only way they can talk is through in-game channels. you could edit the files and copy the data across but thats a bit messy.
i was thinking of adding some proper sync capabilities but thats too complex, so i may just add broadcast ones instead as theyre easier to code.

What's the name of the font in ArkInventory's screenshots?
I've got a very strange issue. Every time I have my ArkInventory addon activated the buttons for dropping and tracking the quest in the standart WoW questlog stop working. After I turn ArkInventory (and the Rules module) off in the character selection screen (or in the ACP addon) these buttons become usable again, but with the addon activated they simply do not react to pressing them.
Not fatal but quite inconvenient.
Hello.
Lately, for some reason, the addon doesn't show cooldon text. I have the cooldowns enabled and the icon even gets darker, but no time is showing on it. Any ideas how to fix this?
I also have the OmniCC adon installed, but no cooldown text is shown even after disabling OmniCC.
not sure, if youre seeing the cooldown spiral then the frame is being shown - ai doesnt add any numbers though, omnicc does that (and if the frame is visible then it should work).
I'm having a couple issues/nuisances with it:

It uses a HUGE amount of CPU power! If you run a profiler addon and you toggle the Bags window with a key, you'll notice that it will use way too much CPU. My guess is that it's because of Tooltip Scanning . An option to disable it (but at the expense of not being able to use some sorting methods) would be perfect

I can't get the items to look nice. The configuration limits are too... simple. Would be nice to be able to use Masque (old ButtonFacade) for this purpose, as I like my UI consistent (I'm already using masque/buttonfacade for my action bars and buff displays, and probably a huge userbase already has it installed.. else they probably don't mind the default skin)

The search "bar" takes so much space. So is the money/token one and the menu bar. Should be able to customize it more, so it fits in one single bars

The menu icons are really ugly and I can't set a border for them :-/
This addon bugs me sometimes. Its about the toggle location feature and the guildbank.
After visiting the guildbank on all my characters I can see the inventory of the guildbank by using the toggle feature. After some weeks have past, when I use the toggle fature to see guilbank inventory all I see is a lot of questionmarks and no inventory. its like it looses its data over time. Very anoying. Now I have to revisit the guildbank on all my characters again.
When I use the seach feature and seach for something I know is in the guildbank, it does tell me in the tooltip that its palced in the guildbank. It just doesnt show in the toogle feature.
actually its your wow cache thats been lost. the items are still there, the question mark proves that, but i dont store the icon for it, that comes from the item cache.
simplest way to "fix" it is to open the vault and then mouse over each item - close the vault and then open it again, the icons should now be there (i think)
alternatively open the search window - youll notice that most of those are empty of names and icons as well, just scroll to the bottom in there and it will start looking things up at which point opening your vault (while offline) will then show the correct icons.
Menus are all over the place, running off the screen, really hard to set things up. Please update, loving this add on so far other than that
i am the GM of my guild and i like to view who is putting in and taking out stuff (LOG) but i cant seem to figure out how to get those buttons to show up on this mod. so far i've needed to disable Arkinventory to see whats actually going on. any advice?!
thx
Right click on one of the bags at the bottom of the guild bank view and select log :)
right click on the search (magnifying glass) icon to toggle the local search pane.

I'm trying to classify the Gnomish Gravity Well as an engineering item-- right now it's being sorted in with the misc. unclassified items. So I enter Edit Mode, right click on it, and the Gravity Well activates, launching me into the air. Every other item I tried (out of a random sampling of my bags) brings up a menu. Is there any other way to reclassify the item or bring up that menu aside from clicking?
Now I have to go to Edit and select it from there.
