ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
HTH
It seems like when more than 1 type of item (or more than 2 stacks) need(s) to be restacked I'm going into an endless loop of restacking force and back.
Note that this does not occur in my bags or in the bank.
Furthermore it might be of interest that my latency is rather high (> 500ms).
Guild vault operations are -- for whatever reason -- a lot slower than bank/bag.
I actually think that there is a bug in the restacking code that wouldn't reveal unless latency is high.
The window lock for the main bag isn't working. When opening a vendor or the auction house something is causing the mag bags position to change vertically, either up or down by about 10-15%. This happens even if the window position for the main bag is locked. There's no LUA error message generated when this happens.
So far this isn't happening for the bank/guild bank/key bags. At least not yet anyway. ;)
maybe unlock it, move it around a bit so the anchor points get saved, then lock it?
add an item via
/ai track itemname| itemlink
itemname needs to be in your bags, itemlink doesnt. item tracking is basically an item version of the currency tracker - just not limited to three, use it the same way, track whatever you want.
remove an item, or unselect it via the ldb object menu
I use DockingStation as my LDB plugin display container. I don't think this matters but I thought I'd mention it nonetheless.
The problem is that ArkInventory_Pets isn't remembering the settings between sessions. If I right-click the menu and choose any pet from the list, it correctly places a checkmark next to the item I clicked and also changes the icon to the selected pet. BUT, if I log out and log back in, ArkInventory_Pets is always reverting back to "Random". It is not persisting the selected pet across sessions. I've been using an alternative addon called "Broker_Pets" due to this issue with ArkInventory. Broker_Pets is correctly persisting the selected item. But, I'd rather not have to use another separate addon just for this, since ArkInventory already has a pets feature for LDB. Can you please look into this issue and fix ArkInventory_Pets so that it remembers its selection across sessions.

Next, I have a question about ArkInventory_Tracking_Item. Is there a way to configure this to track anything in my inventory? By default it has "Soul Shard" listed in the popup menu. Since I'm a rogue, I don't need to concern myself with Soul Shards, but I would like to be able to configure various quest items etc. But I don't see a way to configure this. I looked within the ArkInventory config, and under the LDB section, all I see there is a tab for "Mounts". There's no way to configure any of the other ArkInventory LDB items there.
Can you please clarify how to use this feature. Back in the days of Fubar, there was a plugin (can't remember its name) that allowed you to type in any item name and it would add it to a menu. For example, I could add "Netherweave cloth", "Fel Gland", "Ulduar Relic" etc and the menu would contain these items. When an item was chosen from the popup menu, it would display that item on the menubar with a counter showing the number of those items in your inventory. I'm assuming that this is what the ArkInventory_Track_Items module is intended to do?
Thanks for your time. I very much appreciate the effort you've spent over the years on this amazing and invaluable addon.
For instance, it seems pointless to use UI space to show how many Heartstones each one of your characters have. It's kinda the same with soulbound unique equipment.
"Oh, I have 1 of Deathbringer's Will, and it's in my inventory... how would I have known that if Arkinventory didn't tell me. Wait... Aren't I mouseover on the item right now?" ;)
Other than that, nice addon that makes it much much easier to keep your inventory neat and tidy.
some people have more than one toon, so its nice to know who has what.
Adding a check (or an option) to ommit soulbound and/or unique items would also be generic.
Counting an item that you're 99.99% likely to only have 1 of seems a bit pointless :)
either refresh the window - so things go into their places or enable instant sort (which has an obvious associated cpu hit for every item move because it needs to resort)
What happen to items having the "NEW" label on them when you see them in your inventory? Does ArkInventory not support it or did I some how disable it?
Do I have to re configure everything? :S
Finally! lol small bag window on screen.
Is this a bug? It wasn't showing "Unknown" in the tooltip for another item that I know was in one of my alt's *mailbox*.
