Arcana
Arcana (formerly ChocolateBar) is a lightweight display for broker plugins that lets you organize and observe information on flexible panels. An alternative to TitanPanel, Bazooka and other broker displays.
The Quel'dorei became scattered across the world. To preserve the fragments of arcana they gathered from many sources, they maintain observatories where this knowledge is kept in careful order.

Posted Apr 18, 2011I'm quite fond of this addon, but there are a few things that bothers me!
Firstly, changing the bar height also changes the font size. That's not intended, is it?
What about adding possibility to set an absolute (rather than relative) icon size?
A setting for text offset from the icon?
Custom tooltip anchoring?
Plugin text does not seem to use the .label property of LDB feeds, is this intended? If it is, could there be an option to instead use the label?
Lastly, when I use an advanced bar texture, its height seems to be about half of what's expected.

Actually it is intended. I think it's what most people want when they change the bar size. You can adjust the font size after setting the bar height.
"What about adding possibility to set an absolute (rather than relative) icon size?"
I could add that. Do you also want the icon bigger than the bar?
"A setting for text offset from the icon?"
That's an easy one. I will add this.
"Custom tooltip anchoring?"
That's a problem because some tooltip's do the anchoring themselves. What would you change about the anchoring?
"could there be an option to instead use the label?"
I'm thinking about label support.
"Lastly, when I use an advanced bar texture, its height seems to be about half of what's expected."
The advanced textures must be tweaked with the tile setting. This will change the height of the textures.

Posted Apr 20, 2011I would personally not need the icons the be bigger than the bar.
Tooltips I would probably anchor topleft to bottomleft.
I've just switched from Titan Panel after a very long time, and can't help but compare and miss a few things from it. :)

Posted Feb 24, 2011i do have one issue, on my mage only it seems that even with the "adjust blizzard frames set" checked it refuses to move my player unit frame down like all the others, im not sure if this is an issue with all permanent pet classes because it seems to work on all my other alts that do not have permanent pets. thank you in advance if you can fix this.

Posted Jan 7, 2011I have to report a small iussue that is happening with Broker_CPU Memory.
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/brokercpu.aspx
I have this iusse:
"If used without the LibQTip I find difficult to let tooltip disappears.
I tried to explain better: when I mouseover the ldb info (with chocolate bar last version)Broker_CPU opens the tooltip showing me my addons list.
Then I move the mouse from the ldb text but the tooltip remains open. The only way to close it is to mouseover anything else that opens another tooltip.
With LibQTip when I move out the mouse from ldb text the tooltip correctly disappears. "
and the author answer is:
"Hidding the GameTooltip is handled by the broker display addon not the plugin, it does not happens with ButtonBin and various others, I think you should report it to the chocolatebar developper, he most likely not implemented the data broker specifications correctly. Tell him BrokerCPU uses OnTooltipShow for the GameTooltip, LibQTip uses OnEnter/OnLeave
In BrokerCPU, I manage the procedure to hide the QTip, but for the GameTooltip, this job is passed to the LDB display and this for ALL broker plugin
TO resume this is a chocolate bar bug"
Is possible to check it ?
Thanks very much.
