Skada Damage Meter
Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)
This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.
Features
- Midnight Optimized: Uses Blizzard's internal session data for performance and accuracy.
- Combat Reliability: Handles modern combat data restrictions for a stable experience.
- Updated UI: Includes new presets with smooth animations, gradients, and textures.
- Dynamic Elements: Alternating row colors, highlight overlays, spark effects, and icon scaling.
- LDB Integration: Compatible with Data Broker displays such as Titan Panel, ChocolateBar, and ElvUI.
- Extensible Architecture: The API allows developers to create additional plugins.
Usage
Getting Started
A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.
Multiple Windows
Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:
- Bar: The standard customizable meter.
- Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
- Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.
Navigation
- Left-Click: View more detailed information.
- Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
- Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
- Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).
Themes
Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.
Versions
- Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
- Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.

Posted Sep 10, 2017I am an Outlaw Rogue using Vanessa VanCleef as my combat ally (in the Legion Shore PVE areas). During every battle, when both Vanessa and I are doing damage to the enemy, all damage from Vanessa is being lumped under my total damage (instead of showing 2 separate lines with damage for each of us in the DPS graph display).
When I join a party with another player (Warrior) who uses a combat ally in the same zone, then there are 3 lines total being shown in the DPS graph display = one for me (which includes my combat ally) and a second with only the Warrior and a third with only "Iron Dwarf" = how I see the combat ally of the other player. Thus it seems to recognize the Iron Dwarf as a separate player (and does not combine its damage with the Warrior).
I would like Vanessa (or any other combat ally I might use) to work the same way. I am hoping there is a simple setting I can change to get this working properly? The only similar setting I can find (under General Options) = Merge Pets, which does not seem to have any impact (which makes sense, since combat ally should not be a pet)
I saw this issue with current version (1.7.2) as well as previous versions, so either I have always been using the wrong settings, or its always been broken? Either way, this is NOT a new problem caused by the latest release ... I would greatly appreciate a solution here, so that I am not thinking my DPS is higher than it actually is when doing PVE. Thanks,

Posted Sep 9, 2017Skada seems bugged atm, every time I enter combat I get a short 0.5s freeze and it happens only when skada is on, when I turn it off everything is fine.

Posted Sep 8, 2017Hey there,
Slight issue with the latest version, although I'm not sure what that issue is. No LUA message to tell of a problem, but I have noticed that sometimes (typically in PuGs on Argus) that the add-on fails to calculate the damage of everyone in the group
Not sure why this is happening, or what triggers it (as it's not every PuG) but I have noticed that in some groups that it fails to record on some people. No issue with the user - my damage is always recorded without problem - but even in smaller PuG I've seen people clearly doing damage but nothing showing

Posted Sep 4, 2017Hi there.
Love this addon and have used it for YEARS! Suddenly this morning, ALL of my skada modules are listed as DISABLED in red text, on all of my characters. Has something happened in a recent build or is it a conflict with other addons?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks!

Posted Sep 8, 2017Probably you accidentally triggered a shortcut to disable them. You can check your settings and enable them again

Posted Aug 30, 2017There's small issue in Russian localization, damage module is called "Yрон" instead of proper "Урон", notice latin "Y" instead of cyrillic "У"

Posted Aug 25, 2017So i'm currently experiencing some weird problem with LUI+Skada in which whenever i Join a raid group my Skada instantly hides itself though LUI still has the module as being turned on. I have to click to turn off DPS, and then turn it back on to make the skada window appear. I've looked through the settings and cant find anything that should be causing it. Anyone having similar problems or know how to solve it?

Posted Aug 12, 2017In some videos the names in the raid interface do not match the names in Skada.
What is this mod?

Posted Jul 24, 2017I dont get the damage from Kil'Jaedens Buning Wish to show up in Skada. It does show in Recount however (running both addons at the same time for testing). Tho it doesn't always no-show, but most of the times...
Anyone else got this issue?

Posted Jul 16, 2017How does the blizzard services whisper work? Whenever I try to whisper someone on my list a skada chart, it just says "Skada: Error: Whisper target not found". I've tried their bnet tag, their tag without the # behind it, their real name, etc, but it still refuses to locate the target

Posted Jul 21, 2017This is most likely because the author STILL hasn't added the ability to recognize what realm a person is playing from, it is still a MAJOR problem compared to anything else. I am thinking your whisper target is because they are from a different realm, and frankly Skada is TOO STUPID TO KNOW THAT.
I often would like to look someone up to see their build when I play with them and they are doing great. The only way you can do this is WHILE YOU ARE STILL IN THE GROUP, start typing "/w name" and the name of that person will come up with the realm after their name. IF YOU LEFT THE GROUP ALREADY YOU CAN'T DO IT. So again, Skada is very stupid this way.
Recount doesn't do this. You roll your mouse on a name and it shows the proper Name-Realm like it's supposed to.
