44 - Cooking and Basic Campfire

How about adding a small button somewhere to cast Basic Campfire? I know, I'm a lazy git, but it'd be nice to have =)

Just a simple "create fireplace" button would work fine for now.

For later, adding the fire as a "reagent" would work well. (imo spin off a new ticket)

The automatic detection of cooking success that's being talked about should be far-future. This is, after all, only a convenience. It's like detecting if the person is near an anvil or furnace. (imo spin off a separate new ticket)

It should be trackable with the event "UI_ERROR_MESSAGE".

i could certainly check for a failed spell cast, but i'm not sure about the ability to detect the error message.  i would imagine that's probably something that's visible to the ui api...

You could cast a campfire only after receiving an error that there is none nearby when trying to cook a recipe, and only if the player did not move (can you even detect this ?)

Well, non-campfire cooking devices don't give a buff for being near them, so you probably can't check for them. Always creating a campfire even if the player is already standing at a cooking device seems kind of silly. But putting the button for casting Basic Campfire on the queue window somewhere would be useful.

can't seem to detect camp fires. :( i could add a toggle to always cast camp fire first if it's available to cast.

Is there some way to detect the specific error message that you need a fire?

i think you can determine whether you have a fire near you. if not, then yeah, it wouldn't really be so great.

Wouldn't that lead to a new "problem"? I mean, you can use fires in the Inns, even a campfire that someone of the different faction put up. I just have the image of the dalaran bank full of campfires (cooking daily).

it might need to be a manual click, tho, because it's technically a spell cast. what i'll do is make fire a "reagent" for all cooking recipes and then have "basic campfire" be a recipe that produces the fire "reagent". it'll be a good test of my internal system.
