guide/Party and Raid Frames/Tank Frames

Tank Frames:

Tank Frames are essentially a new group of frames. So first you will need to make a tank frames group.

  • Go to the config menu and select one of raid options from the drop down. (this is mostly so that you will see some config mode frames and have something to work with. If you prefer to work blindly then you can actually skip this step and move on.)
  • Select Groups from the Left Hand side
  • In the New Group box, give your Tank frame group a name. (Hmm... Tanks, Tankboxes, Meatshields.... so many choices!)
  • On the general Tab:
    • Pick "Raid" from the Unit Group Drop down since these are part of your raid group frames.
    • Choose a Layout to Apply to your frames. (You may find you need a new layout if you don't have one you are happy with.)
    • Decide what size you want your frames to be and where you want to place them on your screen
  • On the Formation Tab:
    • Most important for most people will be the spacing of these frames.
  • On the Filtering Tab:
    • Select all the Raid sizes you would like to use your Tank Frames.
    • From the Filter Type Drop down select "Main Tanks"

You've now made Main tank frames. For some people that's plenty, but others are will be wanting to make Tank Targets.

Tank targets:

  • Select Groups from the Left Hand side
  • In the New Group box, give your Tank Target group a name.
  • On the general Tab:
    • Pick "Raidtargets" from the Unit Group Drop down.
    • Choose a Layout to Apply to your frames.
    • Decide what size you want your frames to be and where you want to place them on your screen
  • On the Formation Tab:
    • Set up your spacing. If you built your tank target group on your tank group this may already be set up how you want it.
  • On the Filtering Tab:
    • Select all the Raid sizes you would like to use your Tank Target Frames.
    • From the Filter Type Drop down select "Main Tanks"

Now you have Tank Targets to go with your Main Tank frames. But wait... I hear some of you saying..... what about those target's target boxes??

Tank Targets-Target:

  • Select Groups from the Left Hand side
  • In the New Group box, give your group a name.
  • On the general Tab:
    • Pick "Raid target targets" from the Unit Group Drop down.
    • Choose a Layout to Apply to your frames.
    • Decide what size you want your frames to be and where you want to place them on your screen
  • On the Formation Tab:
    • Set up your spacing. If you built your group on your tank group or tank target group this may already be set up how you want it.
  • On the Filtering Tab:
    • Select all the Raid sizes you would like to use your Tank Targets Target Frames.
    • From the Filter Type Drop down select "Main Tanks"

Voila! You have now used PitBull to create Tank Frames. : )

In the future, you will be able to anchor your Tank frame groups together. Until then remember when you move your PitBull tank frames that if you set up Tank Target and Tank Targets-Target Groups you will have to move each group separately.
