BetterAddonList
Fancy up the default AddOn List! Inspired by ACP by sylvanaar and it predecessors.
BetterAddonList has the following enhancements:
- Search!
- Move the panel.
- Create sets that allow you to quickly enable or disable groups of addons. Including multiple sets in one allows you to create base sets of addons for enabling across multiple characters.
- Shift-click the check box to "protect" an addon, preventing it from getting disabled.
- Enabled addons with missing or disabled dependencies are shown in red.
- Load AddOn button is always shown for unloaded load on demand addons.
- See how much memory enabled addons are using.
Slash Commands
/addons
- show the addon list, /bal
and /acp
can also be used
/addons load [set]
- enable only the addons in a set, other addons are disabled
/addons enable [set]
- enable addons in a set
/addons disable [set]
- disable addons in a set
/addons save [set]
- save all enabled addons to a set
/addons delete [set]
- delete a set
/addons disableall
- disable all addons
/addons reset
- Reset addons to what was enabled at login
Protected addons will never be disabled.
Thank you very much for the change. Quality of life has been restored!
Appreciated.
Should be fixed now! Sorry about that, DisableAllAddons was changed to affect all characters instead of just the current one
Patch broke something.
On EVERY character I log all addons are disabled and I have to enable BAL, reload, load profile, reload.
Same as ACP.
Real pain.
Same issue appears on original ACP addon.
EDIT: Yep, tested, both addons fail :-(
I feel like someone chopped off one of my hands...
Everything was fine until I changed the addon set - thus going to my set of raiding addons - and after that the issue started
I've also noticed other addons not keeping their settings and I believe Blizzard mentioned something about CVar handling being changed in 6.2
Odd, I haven't seen it happen on any of my toons, but I'll look into it
I also have the same issue jgwallace3 has described.
I actually still used an old version of Addon Control Panel, and that also suffered from the same issue...so I'm guessing something has changed on Blizzards side of things.
Thanks for the 6.2 update!
I have a problem, though, and don't know if it's this addon or blizz, but my addons don't persist being 'enabled' between logons. I logon and have NO addons enabled on one toon. I use BAL to load my 'standard' set, reload the UI, logoff, see them listed on the charcater screen addons list, jump to another toon, come back to the first and everythings disabled...
Has anything changed with keeping addons enabled?
Update: I'm able to 'fix'/get around this by loading a set of addons, reloading ui, loadinganother set, then reloading -- after that it sticks as before.
I also suspect blizz...
Update 2: My workaround doesn't work ... reverted to the empty list yet again. Frustrating.
Update 3: r21 has fixed it. That expalins why it always felt like I was getting reset :)
How soon before we can see a 6.2 version?
I doubt this is particular to this wonderful addon, but maybe you or someone here can help me.
My motherboard was fried but I was able to save the SSD that had my warcraft installation. I copied the entire C:\World of Warcraft\ directory to a new computer, set Curse to look at the directory to make sure all the addons are up to date, set the bnet app to find the directory, and launched the game.
Addon settings aren't the same. For BetterAddonList, all the sets for various characters aren't there. (Other things are off too, like chocolate bar settings/preferences.) Where are BAL sets kept? Any idea why copying the entire install over didn't keep them?
love this addon and thank you soooo much for making it! only request i have is the ability to have addon sets dis/enabled for instances battlegrounds raids ect.!
Big Thank You so much for this addon!
This Addon perfect ! Need make groups . And if you make default settings for All Characters it will be good . All settings for me doesn't work when i change with All it must be change for all characters but this settings doesn't work for me :) so maybe you can make default setting ( for all characters ) if you make them this addon will be perfect , thanks for this addon i hope you will develop it . I will check often . Maybe you will add this settings.
Is there any way to disable addon "groups" all at once?Having to manually disable 200 DBM plugins is kinda tiring.
<script charset="UTF-8" type="application/javascript" ></script>Excellent work, fits my needs perfectly and looks nice. The memory use guages are a very nice touch also.
Actually keeps per toon addon settings unlike ACP which has been broken for ages
Great addon, exactly what I was looking for. Works a lot better than ACP.
Hi,
first off all I wanna say I really fance your AddOn as I really never loved ACPs Usability. I was glad I found your AddOn because the one I used so far (http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/too-many-addons) hasn't been updated in over a year and allthough it is still working (abeit throwing an error here and there) I just don't trust it anymore.
Nevertheless I really miss one cool feature from toomanyaddons. That is simply and fastly choosing which sets I need right now, by just enabling a checkbox and hit the reload button. That also gave a great overview of which sets are activated at the moment.
So maybe it would be possible for you to add checkboxes in front of every set in the set-dropdownmenu where a set could be activated/deactivated?
The alpha version (r16) is displaying a message in the chat window for each "only loadable on demand" addon that I have marked as protected. I use Jamba which has over 10 "only loadable on demand" addons. Deadly Boss Mods has even more "only loadable on demand" addons.
thanks, should be fixed
Please add a slash comment to enable a set. The load command disables all non-protected addons except those in the set being loaded. I'd like to be able to enable a set without disabling other non-protected addons. thanks.
love the addon, nice replacement for ACP. One thing I noticed is that you need to enable an addon before setting it as protected, otherwise it won't load even on /reload.
Great work :)
