PitBull Unit Frames 4.0

Pitbull 4 Config Menu

PitBull4 is a continuation of PitBull.

Differences from PitBull 3:

  • It's mostly done, but not entirely done thus why there are still only betas (despite this it is still very stable).
  • Documentation is written before functions
  • Much easier for third-party extensions.
  • Options will be much, much simpler. In 3.0, there's about 200 panels that you can mess with, it's overwhelming. I want to bring this down to somewhere around 10.
    • Layouts are defined deterministically and unit groups use the layout rather than ad-hoc layouts on a per-unit basis. This will make setting up your unit frames far, far easier.
    • Due to some decisions made, 4.0 is actually more configurable than 3.0. As a layout designer, you will have a lot more control over how things look. You can have different fonts on the same frame, different textures, more precise positioning, and a whole slough of other things.
  • CPU Efficiency will be taken much more seriously.
  • It uses Ace3 instead of Rock.

How can i create Boss#1-4 frames with Pitbull?

You ought to be able to do something with texts. I know quite a lot of people that have done some class/spec specific tracking of auras with LuaTexts. If you poke around the LuaTexts forums either on the wowace forum or on EJ you should find something that is helpful.

Yay! Thanks a lot. I sort of laughed when I updated and logged in. All of the test layouts I had done were in the list so I had 20+!

On another note, I have a few more questions. I've been trying to get used to the new Eternal Flame talent on the Paladin and have been looking for a way to track this. While I have found a few addons that will track a single Eternal Flame HoT, I'm having trouble finding one that tracks each one on the raid and allows for a more fluid way of healing. I can always filter out aura's and increase their size, but as I mentioned before, I'm redoing my ui and trying to keep the spacing between frames at a minimum. Is there any chance we can see a future build of Pitbull adding visual helpers that provide indicators/icons on the frame rather than attached outside of the frame? I understand that there is a visual helpers plug-in by fammy2k and shotmonkey but it is outdated. If you are aware of a particular addon that will fill this role well then that will be helpful too I guess. Just trying to stick with Pitbull over Vuhdo or Grid/Grid2

Works for me. However, it doesn't seem to take effect immediately. The Aura needs to update or you can just reload the UI. This really isn't the place to get advice on how to configure OmniCC.

I hate to be a nuisance, but even Pitbull4_Cooldown_ does not blacklist the cooldown text from appearing. I've tried many different variations as well.

Note that I was able to blacklist other cooldown texts from appearing, such as on the action bar. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this problem?

Forgot that the cooldown frames don't show up on framestack and forgot about my own FAQ:

I appreciate your effort but unfortunately I've already done that to no avail. I've tried everything I can think of such as:

    Pitbull4, Pitbull4_Aura, Pitbull4_Aura_(1-9), Pitbull4_Frame, Pitbull4_Frames, Pitbull4_Frame_(1-9), Pitbull4_Cooldown, Pitbull4_Cooldown_(1-9), and many others.

So I'm wondering if OmniCC simply doesn't work with the Pitbull4 aura frame or if there's something I'm not seeing.

Bug should be fixed in the latest Alpha.

I wasn't accusing you of lying. I just thought you had made a common mistake like looking for something in a profile that you weren't using.

I have replicated the issue and see what the problem is. I'll get it fixed. In the meantime you can work around it by changing something on the following tabs of the layout: General (and any of its sub tabs), Bars/General, Indicators/General, Texts/Default font or Texts/Default size, Faders/Minimum opacity or Faders/Maximum opacity or Faders/Smooth opacity change.

Ultimately what is happening is that AceDB is optimizing the layouts that have default values still set on them. As soon as something loads them then they get created with the default values. The key issue here is that you have to create them and not modify them or use them.
