PitBull4 is a continuation of PitBull.

Differences from PitBull 3:

  • It's mostly done, but not entirely done thus why there are still only betas (despite this it is still very stable).
  • Documentation is written before functions
  • Much easier for third-party extensions.
  • Options will be much, much simpler. In 3.0, there's about 200 panels that you can mess with, it's overwhelming. I want to bring this down to somewhere around 10.
    • Layouts are defined deterministically and unit groups use the layout rather than ad-hoc layouts on a per-unit basis. This will make setting up your unit frames far, far easier.
    • Due to some decisions made, 4.0 is actually more configurable than 3.0. As a layout designer, you will have a lot more control over how things look. You can have different fonts on the same frame, different textures, more precise positioning, and a whole slough of other things.
  • CPU Efficiency will be taken much more seriously.
  • It uses Ace3 instead of Rock.

    I just have to say...great job on the animate bars/bar fader feature!

    That's the one thing I was really missing from PB3, and now it's here. It looks great!

    @Setera, If it's working for one spell it should work for all. Sometimes the aura system on Blizzard's end does weird things, but I can't say that I've ever seen it return wrong data for who cast what. I have seen it show duplicate buffs/debuffs for units and of course when you're out of range some data won't be available. However, the range issue shouldn't matter for things like debuffs since you have to be in range to have enemies targeted anyway.

    I've managed to get it to filter so it'll only show my debuffs now was having trouble with it showing other spriest's debuffs but it shows my mind trauma debuff all the time even when i have it clicked off i know im doing it right cause it worked for misery,mind flay

    If you just want to remove the overheal look for the settings of the VisualHeal module under Other in the layout tab.

    If you want to get rid of all the VisualHeal display just turn the VisualHeal module off.

    Ok thx i'll try that out.

    Also, is there any way to get rid of the bar that (i think) represents overhealing being done wen casting a heal?

    I think this feature looks great and it certainly has some uses to it. But I'm going for a more minimalistic setup for my UI.

    If you want it to be smart you should set it to the Class abilities option. This option will select the shortest spell you can cast on the unit.

    i dont know if this question has come up yet, but there are way too many pages to check :).

    I've noticed that when I enable the range fader and put it to helpfull spells 40yards, it automatically fades targeted enemy frames aswel since you cant cast helpfull spells on them. Is there any way to fix this, or should I set it to custom spell and pick something i can cast on both enemies as wel as friendly players like penance?

    The colors are intended to be informational. If you don't want informational colors just set a custom color. I'm not implementing class colors for NPCs because it's fundamentally worthless.

    Well the green/yellow/red pattern kinda breaks the symmetry I got with class colours. But is there a way to make the colourscheme appear as warrior/mage/paladin?
