PitBull Unit Frames 4.0

Pitbull 4 Config Menu

PitBull4 is a continuation of PitBull.

Differences from PitBull 3:

  • It's mostly done, but not entirely done thus why there are still only betas (despite this it is still very stable).
  • Documentation is written before functions
  • Much easier for third-party extensions.
  • Options will be much, much simpler. In 3.0, there's about 200 panels that you can mess with, it's overwhelming. I want to bring this down to somewhere around 10.
    • Layouts are defined deterministically and unit groups use the layout rather than ad-hoc layouts on a per-unit basis. This will make setting up your unit frames far, far easier.
    • Due to some decisions made, 4.0 is actually more configurable than 3.0. As a layout designer, you will have a lot more control over how things look. You can have different fonts on the same frame, different textures, more precise positioning, and a whole slough of other things.
  • CPU Efficiency will be taken much more seriously.
  • It uses Ace3 instead of Rock.

I'm still fiddling with PB4, tweaking to get everything how i want it, and I've run into a problem (which I'm gonna assume is cos I'm having a blonde week!) I can't find the raid icon section at all!

I've set all my raid groups up separately, and want to have the skull, X etc showing when people are marked, but I just can't find it. I have the option checked to have that module active (I have rest icon, ready check icon etc etc) I just can't see it under indicators (or anywhere else for that matter) to turn it on in the config screen.

Am I just totally doing something wrong here? I just installed the latest version as well, in case I screwed something up somewhere along the line, just cant see it! Please help! =)

    • edits* Hrmm, well I totally deleted it from my wow folder and reinstalled it now I seem to be able to see them! No idea what I did wrong in the first place =) Time to redo everything again =)

@Devius, If you mean that you want a more than one player and target frame with different layouts. You can't do this right now but it is coming soon. I can't tell you when but the code for it is mostly done, I just keep running into kinks that keep me from releasing it.

First of all great update to a great addon.

I have one question for you. Is it possible to use two different layouts for the same frame ? For example I am using a layout for my player's frame, but i would also like to be able to set a second layout for my player's frame (and the same for my target frame) as well (kind of like a HUD).

FYI to anyone running the alpha and that is concerned with frame levels. Frame levels for the frames within the unit frames have changed. In particular Portraits, Auras, Totems, Indicators and Texts have all had their frame levels raised.

The new frame levels as offsets from the unit frames levels are:

        -1 GroupHeader
        0 Unit Frame
        1 Bars
        5 Portrait
        9 Aura
        10 Aura Cooldown
        11 Aura Text
        13 Indicators
        14 Totems CD
        15 Totems Text
        17 TextProvider Overlay

If you've adjusted your Aura frame levels in your configuration, you will need to readjust it. The old default was 2. The new default is 9. You can find the proper setting by adding 7 to whatever you have. If you haven't changed the Aura frame levels you don't need to do anything.

If you're using some other addon to add frames over PB4 you may need to adjust that addon as well.

@B00mshakaB00m, The author of the other addon needs to provide you with a way to adjust the strata and/or frame levels. Please direct your inquires to that author.
