Decursive

47 - Making it work for Intervene for Warriors

What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel.

Just like every other decursive, you just click the box when it lights up

I'm not aware of any aggro loss event in the log though the 3 event types that can cause it are as follows.

Taunting a Mob, Exceeding the Agro threshold by 10% while in melee range of the Mob Exceeding the Agro threshold by 30% while outside melee range of the Mob

using the API UnitDetailedThreatSituation is what you'll want I would guess. One option for that is "isTanking" which returns 1 if the unit is the Primary Threat Target or nil otherwise. Another API command you might want to take a look at is UnitThreatSituation and it's parameters.

I don't know if you want to extend Decursive capabilities into a Raid Frame replacement tool but being able to have a MUF colour alert for certain agro events would be great.

It's not Just a Warrior Ability, Hunters Pets have it too.

I had been pretty sure though (the behaviour may have changed) that one way it worked was that if you have the mob targeted when you cast it you'll be automatically directed to the Unit the threat has aggro on. If it still be behaves that way there is no need for you to cast it on a Party member in this circumstance, it should work that if a Mob your Tanking looses aggro on you then if you cast intervene it will send you to the Friendly Unit the mob is going for.

However I know Intervene is often used in other circumstances though but none of those require any more than the ability to cast it on any party member which you can now do using Decursive via a couple of ways though not having to use the macro or have to tied it to one of the exiting affliction types would be nice.

I'll take a look, I think Decursive should be able to cast this spell but the real issue is that detecting aggro loss is not the same as detecting a debuff... Is there a combat log event on agro loss?

Implementing this requires important changes, so it won't be my priority but it's still interesting.

Actually Intervene does "sort of" take aggro back. It intercepts an attack and reduces threat by 10% on the friendly target. Here is the ability link. And here is the glyph that increases the number of attacks it intercepts.

In order for Intervene to work, you normally need to target the person being attacked before using it. To decurse, you don't need to target someone directly. To use Intervene, you likely do. Due also to the fact the ability causes your character to move, I wouldn't bet on being able to implement this into Decursive.

Its like all those auto-targeting mods that broke in WoW 2.0 due to Blizzard implementing the restriction that you had to press a button (or click an actual unit frame) to do something. Be nice if you could implement this, but I wouldn't put my money on being able to do so.

No it should not but it does take the damage and in the time you can get aggro back usually,

Does Intervene also take the aggro back from the dps in the circumstances you described?

I'm not sure what would trigger it, aggro if you could I dont know.

The point being is that it is an awesome addon, I have 7 80's so I use it for alot of toons, now Warriors have the imo weakest aoe tanking in game, so like when a mage or lock pulls an add off the tank during an aoe pull the warrior could just click the decursive box and interview that player and take the damage instead of the dps. So it would be very beneficial to warrior tanking.

    I've got some questions:

1: What's the point of doing that?
2: What would be the debuff/event that would trigger the alert (MUF lighting)?
