Posted Oct 26, 2016I've thought of that at times.
Right now the dirty fix didn't actually fix any of the 7.1 issues. just chopped the one thing off that was causing it not to work the most. MANY other things are broken and need significant time to figure out where and how to fix. Hopefully someone does this. Otherwise things like proper scrolling and now in this patch clickable links, will continue to not be supported. Each patch another feature will be hacked off to make wim keep working.

Ty sooo much Mysticalos, This addon is one of my favs out there and really makes messaging in the game a hell of alot better.
Edit. Just a FYI, I would be fine with a stripped down version of this addon. I just love the pop up part and using it to manage messages. If you had to strip all the code out and make a basic one im sure we could get behind that to, something a little easier to manage.

Posted Oct 26, 2016That fix is available in 517. It's not an ideal solution as it should be using the user set font from the widgets that were just hacked off. None the less it'll get people by until it can get proper attention.

Posted Oct 26, 2016if i have time and can actually figure it out quickly I'll patch it. I won't do anything remarkable though. My time is heavily invested in DBM. New content after new content and constant game breaking changes too that need refactoring too. It's hard to keep up with WIM which has so much obsolete code and is in need of far more than just bandaids. bandaids get it working again but more and more stuff breaks every major patch. there are still UI options that don't work anymore. message windows don't scroll properly anymore, etc.
So if I do anything in next couple days it's just going to be a quick and dirty to make it "functional" again but not great.
EDIT I looked at it, it's not a quick fix. It'd probably take me forever just to debug what's wrong with it. So I likely won't be fixing it at all.

Why would you say "no apparent intent of fixing it"? Unless you've got source of someone saying "We're not going to bother", I would assume Mystic would put as much effort into upkeep on WIM as he has on DBM.

Posted Oct 25, 2016As others have said... broken with no apparent intent of fixing it. Unfortunately, this is a major functionality loss and replacing this addon with one that is actually supported is critical.
Are there any others out there that, at a minimum, offer tabbed whisper windows?

To be more specific, I see window controls for each conversation, but no window nor any text. And I don't even get the combat bypass for tells any more, so I simply see zero tells with WiM active.

Posted Sep 17, 2016Just a note. wim is completely broken by patch 7.1 and I don't really have time to fix it. WIM will cease working in 7.1 until I can get around to it or until someone volunteers to help work on project, as my focus is on other things that occupy my full time.

Posted Sep 12, 2016Editing my comment because i resolved my issue, but also leaving it to hopefully help others who may have the issue
I was having trouble editing and creating new macros, and the UI was printing a message saying that an addon was blocking the functionality. Through a very thorough elimination, 4 different addons were creating individually the exact same problem. This was WIM, Opie, and the crafting and shopping plugins for TSM. As I continued to troubleshoot the issue, deleting my cache made everything work again.

Posted Aug 31, 2016I'd like to use WIM to handle all of my Guild and Party chat as well. I have the options checked, but i'm not getting any popups. Anyone have some advice on the settings? Also, is it possible to have them spawn at different locations?

Posted Aug 24, 2016Hey. My WIM chat windows dont show the player class color. but if someone types in a name of player that shows up in color. Only Battle net whispers show the player class color. but not immediately, i need to search for the character for it to show.

Posted Aug 15, 2016I am looking for someone who wants to take WIM over. It's become a higher and higher amount of stress to upkeep and has gotten to point where it's too much work to even keep it FUNCTIONAL let alone actually try to improve it any.
It becomes more and more broken each expansion and needs significant updates to really fix all the issues it's picked up over the years.
