WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

This is a common problem if you are using a spam blocker. Known problems with SpamSentry and SpamMeNot.

Hi, I can't find an answer to this anywhere, so if it's been posted and /or addressed, my apologies in advance.

Love the addon, finally just installed it. I only have one problem though. I want to move the mini map icon to a different position on my mini map, and I cannot. I tried unlocking it from the mini map, and that keeps it locked into another position in the upper right corner of my screen. I also tried alt-click dragging, that didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Also, I have FuBar, everything is updated. Is there a FuBar icon for WIM? I can't find that either.

I believe you have to shift-click to move the mini map icon.

I have a problem with linking items. for example if i type to my friend " Look what i just picked up in this raid " then link him the item , my text is deleated, and it links the item twice for some reason. Anyway to fix this?

Great prank! It also got me, I went on disconnecting everything off the wall as soon as I heard it! Hacking thru the nineties, can make a guy jumpy, like vietnam stress trauma! Five stars as always Pazza ^^

Hi guys,

I got a "problem" which could be even useful in some situations (lol), but I'd like to choose when enable it or not :P. But in this case I'd prefer to take it as a problem and cut it off!

Anyway, after an update released a month ago or so, everytime I receive a message I can listen the altert sound as I configured it in the options (e.g. the "Bell" sound), but I receive another sound after some seconds, which is another type of sound referred to the same message (and not a new incoming from other guys). That's the default sound of a previous version which is not in the addon anymore (well, I did not find it in the sound list). It seems to be useful when, for example, I did not catch the first alert sound for whatever reason, but it's really frustrating because It's like other messages have been sent from somebody else, so I have the instinct to click on the little ball on the minimap to find out whoelse sent me a message xD.

What can I do to solve this problem? Have any idea? Hopefully I explained it clearly enough... ^^

New Release including many bug fixes along with the April Fools joke removed (which IMO was pointless considering it is now april 2nd lol?).

Either way... The world can now rest as this horror that apparently many people call humor, is now over.

Thanks for the "VERY" funny prank (NOTE THE SARCASM). You wasted my time. Hope that makes you happy. You're idea of a "Funny" prank makes me wonder about your mental health. I'd see a doctor if I were you. Clearly, your suffering from some kind of illness. I might have thought it was a joke if the Confiker worm wasn't scheduled to come out at the same time as your lame joke.
