yes that's what is happening to mine also when I tried to set where it pops up at I got the side boxes but nothing else hope he fixes it soon

@kittymunst3r I really appreciate the efforts of fixing it - but Cyrillic symbols are just not displayed - all replaced with "?"

Is there any hope of fixing it?

PS. I did delete old WIM from AddOn's folder and replaced it with latest one downloaded from here.

Okay, peeps in the comments, if you haven't noticed: *Mysticalos did a very basic, dirty fix of WIM*. Go under Files and replace your WIM folder under your WoW>Interface>Addons folder with the latest alpha build. I've been using WIM-r518 and it's been working "great".

• No* - You won't be able to link items, achieves, etc., in the WIM window. (No big deal, you can just forward slash your WoW chat and do it there - so stop whining and flooding tickets).
  
• No* - Most stuff won't work. That's because the coding to this addon is so broken and such a mess to deal with that it would take a crazy amount of time for Mysticalos to rework. But kindly enough, we got a rough-basic-but most importantly *working* version of WIM.
  @Mysticalos: You're awesome. Thank you for the dirty fix, and like some of the other comments, I definitely wouldn't mind a uber basic version of WIM. Nothing fancy, just an addon that allows me to manage my whispers, guild chat, etc., neatly and efficiently. Thank you so much for all the work you've done in working and creating this! You're awesome! Also, as a guild recruiter, I couldn't survive without this addon, so thanks again for the dirty fix!

Stopped working after newest WoW patch. Whisper windows don't show up anymore, and sometimes I just get the icons of the window appearing in the top left of the screen.

The symbols are still not working properly but i dont CARE. I missed WIM so sooo much. I have been using this addon since 08 and there is not one other whisper addon even close. I felt so lost without it.

Latest Alpha version is not working with Cyrillic symbols, displays ???? instead of them. Though it worked just fine before.

Mine was working fine until this last update 3.7.9 not only did it stop working but it blocked any of the normal whispers I was getting so I had to shut it off any idea what I can do about this hate being without my wim thanks for making and working on keeping it up to date.

DOwnloaded the r517 and r518 releases to try it out but the addon doesnt seem to appear in my addon's list or some strange reason.

Edit - Ignore me, im blind, will test out the dirty fixes.

Just a side note, for users to see the Alpha release in curse, they need to tell it to show Alpha releases, not just the current release.

In the lastest version of Curse:

1. Go to "MY ADDONS" list
2. Right-click on WIM from the list
3. Highlight "RELEASE TYPE"
4. Select "ALPHA"

You can also click on the addon, click the 3 dots in the top right (MORE), and change it from there.

Hopefully this helps more people stay up to date with the "dirty fixes" so the dev's aren't flooded with as many tickets/requests; At least until a more permanent solution can be had. Really hoping someone finds the time to rebuild this addon...it has been an integral part of my WoW experience for many many years.

WIM is one of the best addons. Many thanks for the fix. I hope that items/links will be clickable soon again.

Agreed, You really don't know how much you miss something until its not there anymore lol. This and DBM are the two main got to have mods for me.

For the love of god don't let this addon go down the shoot. I've been using it for so many years i can't remember..... Please!!!

Ty sooo much Mysticalos, This addon is one of my favs out there and really makes messaging in the game a hell of alot better.

Edit. Just a FYI, I would be fine with a stripped down version of this addon. I just love the pop up part and using it to manage messages. If you had to strip all the code out and make a basic one im sure we could get behind that to, something a little easier to manage.
