WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

for some reason i keep getting the spam that canbie gets....and it doesn't matter if i whispered them or not...if i try a random name such as stop it still does it....its getting frustrating...the only way to stop it is if they are, 1, still online or 2, i reload UI and i dont want to be reloading UI every second. is there anything i can do in the codes to change that or something?

I"m not seeing any crashes, but when I shift-click to close Guild chat (and also Party chat, I think) a message shows up in the regular chat window that "No player named 'Guild' is currently playing". Just a minor weirdness, but maybe it's a symptom of something.

I'm getting the spam when someone logs off that they are offline. Also the windows don't seem like they are behaving normally. Can't wait for a fix!

if you are like me and hate how the whisper container closes after clicking it.. open up Menu.lua and change line 257 to -- self:Hide();

this comments out the hide code and allows you to manually click to hide the container.. otherwise it stays open ;)

The error "Astrolabe is missing data" can probably be fixed by updating the included Astrolabe library from 0.4 to 1.0. Tomtom for example includes the newer version.

When I log in, I keep getting a huge list in my chat of "Astrolabe is missing data for ___________" for a bunch of zones (vashj'ir, hillsbrad foothills, etc). This is the only addon I have that uses Astrolabe.. so I think that this is where I should put this "error".. it doesn't have an LUA error, it's just a little spammy..

Ello :) is it possible to do so u can enable sounds, when wow sounds are disable?
i can only get it to work if i enable wow sounds, and dont want that crap on :D!

the history is showing realid friends as "unknown" in addition to not allowing us to submit tickets without disabling wim first

There's a problem with the filters. I can't put anything into the editbox for a new pattern filter. It's not clickable. Also, for filters, there's allow, ignore, and block. All three work fine, but is there a way to block something, but allow other addons to filter it, or ignore a certain whisper, but also suppress it from the chat frame?

Not exactly sure where to put feature requests so I'll post it here. All I'm asking for is a button for /ginvite on the side of whisper windows right along with the add to friends button and whatnot in the whisper shortcut bar.
