WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

When I try to submit a ticket to blizzard, I get a UI error that tells me to disable addon or ignore it, so I tell it to disable the addon causing the issue and the only one it disables is WIM. I can't submit a ticket on any character with WIM enabled.

when i logged out in the middle of a GM conversation. when i logged back in. it spammed the GM with WIM! # multiple times.

Having similar issues, but no slowing or disable prompt.

When closing windows after the whisper target has gone offline I get the message that he's not online and if I share locations with that person I get that message every 5 secs when I move as I guess it's updating my location still to that person.

Using version 3.4.2

Blizzard's new latest patch as of 11/6 is now giving WIM a message saying that it is causing my game to run slowly and then the game asks if I would like to diable addons. The other thing that it is doing is saying that people who have logged off - are offline.

I have one WIM window that all private messages are filtered into, is there a way to lock this window in place to prevent accidentally moving it? Can't find anything in the menus about it

I would also love a locking feature for the Im screens. I'd really like to be able to lock my WIM screens because sometimes they'll spontaneously move or be accidently moved.

I'm having problems with this too, but its not just detaching... its changing the chatbox back to the Bliz default, scroll arrows and all, and it looks like maybe even back to the default position that is in the default Bliz client.

It took me a couple of hours to narrow it down to WIM being the culprit. I'm not sure if its a fault of WIM or nUI, but I can't get WIM to play nice with nUI's default chatbox, Prat3 or Chatter. This is occuring with nUI's latest Development version.

i am an nui user and found that wim is detaching the chatbox from the interface when it is detached it covers a toolbar is wim suppose alter the chatbox in any way because it dose for nui users(was not happening pre patch)
