WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) is a World of Warcraft addon which brings an instant messenger feel to communication in game.

Known Issues

Addons can not process messages while chat is in lock down. To get around this, WIM logs all events and then rebuilds and processes them once you have excited lock down. During this time, chat is routed as normal to the default chat frame so you don't miss anything. Unfortunately, /r and similar keybindings to reply during this time will NOT work. Allowing the default chat frame to handle these events cause severe tainting issues and breaks everything.
Community Chat is now supported. It comes with limitations though because the sender name and message are protected and can not be read by addons or saved.

i think i have a problem here as the WIM window works on and off sometimes when i get a whisper it goes into a window others it goes bk to the old way and others what i say goes into a window and theirs dose not

it dose do it when i am in combat but also dose it out of combat i logd on last night and got a /w right away and no box popd up but when i /w'd bk the box came up with just what i said

I think there must be a error in WIM...
When I setup WIM/Whispers/Filtering Spam Blocker - User Level to lvl 2, then when other ppl whispers me, WIM ignores there whisper..
The txt is displayed for about 3 sec. on the screen, and is then lost forever!
No WIM history or txt in whisper window... the whisper is gone.. :(
If I then unmark the WIM/Whispers/Filtering Spam Blocker again, then all is back to normal... As I said before.. there must be an error in WIM... User Level filter don't work!

i love this addon but i'd like to keep a history of everything without using the separate WIM windows... like is it possible to use WIM to keep history of raid chat but not have it so raid is in a separate window?

a guildy has this addon and we heard a sound of a murloc mrgllgrll over vent and he said WIM has different sounds when someone whispers you. so i get it and i set it up but there's no murloc sounds, there are other sounds i see under the special sounds for guild mates or friends but not this one. was it removed or did he mention the wrong addon?

May I just say, WIM is the single best addon I have found to date. Makes whispers so easy, and fun. I will never miss a whisper, forget who people are, or wonder what level they are again! WIM is just so good! A must have for all players!

hi i have just downloaded and put this add on in and the 1st thing it said was i was on a private server :S

"WIM has detected that you are playing on a private server. Some servers can not process ChatAddonMessages. Would you like to enable them anyway?"

I've been getting the same error ever since I installed the 3.3.3 release. 3.3.2 still runs fine if you can ignore the in-game "NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE!!" everytime you log a character.

Although your error log gave me an idea...

im haveing a issue atm with this addon it is with the guild tap when wim is enabled then i can't see the GMOTD or any of the options in the guild control button it has been going on since the last update

anyone have any idea on how to fix it

Raidwarning,
I have a question because there is someting missing (or i have a setting wrong, dont know).

When a Item is announced in Raid then you get message on screen and a Item link in chat window..
I got the warning but no link in chat window... is this missing ?
Or do i have a setting wrong. Pls info

I like this Addon, but have a question about it.
Is it possible to turn off the regular chat and use this one instead ? (like Bartender does with Blizzard Castbar area.
Is it possible to lock the Chatboxes somewhere on screen ??
