SpamageMeters

Table of Contents

SpamageMeters is a simple addon that suppresses chat messages from damage meters like Recount and instead provides a chat-link to provide the blocked damage statistics in a popup.

Currently this project supports meter output from Recount, Numeration, TinyDPS and Skada, but we will accept feature request to add more addons.

Please use the ticket tracker for any feature requests or bugs encountered: Note that the authors do not currently play WoW at the moment, but are still keeping track of this addon. A ticket is the fastest way to report a bug or request a feature or toc update.

Some Remarks:

This addon has been tested with Prat and Chatter, and should work. Other chatmods haven't been tested though, so if you encounter any issues, please file a ticket.
After encountering the start of a damage report ("Recount - xxx" line), the addon will by default only check the first following second for damage output. If you find that SpamageMeter does not capture all output (in case of extremely large reports or people throttling output) increase the "Capture Delay" slider found on the option panel.
The addon is tested and works together with WIM, but due to the way WIM handles whispers, the damage meters are only suppressible by SpamageMeters but not compressible.

Because of the new versions, some localizations are missing or incomplete. It would be greatly appreciated if someone can translate some localization for this addon. Languages still needed: Latin American Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portugese. We also need a few more sentences for French, Korean, Russian and Spanish.

Numeration should be supported, but perhaps they changed their reporting format in such a way SpamageMeters doesn't pick it up anymore. As my account is currently frozen, it's a bit hard to install their addon and test :P

Could you submit a ticket with a screenshot or the text of a numeration report? I'll have a look and see what they changed then :)

Okay it does seem to work properly with Numeration for almost all the reports it has, except one. The healing-absorb doesn't seem to work anymore. It's not a huge deal and I can live with it. I don't think it requires modification on your part since it is a pretty obscure case. Especially since almost everyone likes using Recount or Skada ;)

Not working for me any more. Could it have something to do with the new instance chat? When I report to intance, it doesnt catch anything.

Can you add a function to recolor the words heals in green and hits in red for deaths reports and recolor the player name base on the calss ?

If you could incorporate it, the code to make this useful with Numeration is just the following added to the initial spamNextLines section

"^Numeration: (.*)$", -- Numeration

There's code in the Numeration addon that has to be changed to make it compatible, but I've already conversed with the author, and he seems amiable to the minor change.

This doesn't seem to be picking up the output from Skada (at least 1.2-22) so I added:
"^Skada: (.*) for (.*), (.*) - (.*):$"
to spamFirstLines, and:
"^.*%%%)$"
to spamNextLines so that it picks up the damaging/healing abilities from people (Attack 49.5k (50.3%)). This seems to have fixed it for me, although the formatting on that spamNextLine one might not be the best (I really don't know much about that).

it won't catch any of the lines. it either works and grabs it all or nothing. it seems to work best in raids, but even then it only catches maybe once or twice out of 15-20 times the whole night. i never see it pick up in parties.

I have the same problem. I have linked a few examples. Sometimes it cathes all, sometime partially catches and rest in chat and sometimes nothing at all.

i don't know why, but it never seems to do what it is intended to do. when i first downloaded it, it worked amazing catching all the reports for the first day or two. but now it doesn't collect them. i've uninstalled, deleted the saved variables, reinstalled and still no luck. i'm using the same addons as when i initially DL this. also, there are no errors. i know this is a crappy comment, just wondering if you have any thoughts on it.

when there are more then 10 people that recount is reporting, it reports in groups of 8 or so and only the first 8 are stopped the rest go into the chat frame, any way to stop that from happening?

Yes - if you increase the 'Capture Delay' slider, it should wait longer before it assumes no more spamage is incoming that way.

As stated in the Description it is currently not able to support WIM. This is because WIM seems to block the link from SpamageMeters. We are trying to find ways to get around this, but it seems that the way that WIM is coded it is prohibiting us from doing so.
