SkadaHealAbsorbs

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Adds a new module to Skada that tracks absorbs (Power Word: Shield, Divine Aegis, etc). While Skada comes with a basic absorb tracker, its a bit lacking. It doesn't offer enough information, and it requires you to switch back and forth between the absorb module and the healing module to fully evaluate the healing done. This module displays absorbs and heals in the same window. It tracks all heals/absorbs on a spell and player basis, and it calculates total healing done, percentage of total healing, and heals per second.

Would it be possible for this mode to show overhealing as well? it would be the best mode for a Discipline healer that way. I would use Total healing, but that one doesn't take absorbs into account...

hey, can you please add the absorb from the tankadins selfhealing-WoG-Talent? It's called "Guarded by the Light" and is triggered by overheal portion of a selfhealing WoG. Every Overhealing goes towards the shield http://www.wowhead.com/spell=88063. Source and target are the same person, so it should be easy to track.

hello, in 4.0.1 theres a talent in the paladin tree that enables word of glorys overhealing to form a damage mitigation shield on the paladin for 6 seconds called
"guarded by the light" i noticed this absorb is not yet in any healing and absorb meters i was wondering if you could add this into skada.

1.) WoW is still reporting that SkadaHealAbsorbs is "Outofdate" and I installed the latest version (R 1.3)

2.) PowerWord Barrier does not show up on Healing&Absorbs

@discombobulated I depend upon the SkadaHealing core addon, as I use the heal data from there rather than log all the heals myself. You can, however, safely turn off SkadaAbsorbs, the built-in absorb tracker.

So just to clarify, I can turn off the built in absorb and heal trackers in skada and leave just this one on and it will work fine? It's separate and not dependent on those two being loaded?

I think it is not working property as it was reporting my PW:S its highest hit for 40K... very impossible... or maybe is a global skada problem...

Most of my testing is small scale, so I've never run across a PW:S max hit for anywhere near max. I am curious how it calculated a 40k though, as even with zone-wide multipliers it should only be around 10k. I'll turn on debugging during raid this weekend and see if I can't track it down.

So I ran a special debug version that logged all absorbs over 15k, and tried to sort out what was happening. I didn't get any 40k ones, but I did get an average of one and a half 20k or so heals per boss encounter. For those, it seemed to happen when 2 disc priests in raid would bubble the same target at exactly the same time, and they would receive 2 shields. I also suspect those odd high single target hits could be driven up further by other absorbs on the target at the same time (divine aegis, anti magic shell, trinkets, etc).

Unfortunately, as I understand it, this problem is the same for all absorb guessing add-ons, as there isn't enough information being given to the client to figure out what to attribute the absorb to. Basically add-ons like this just keep track of all absorb spells being cast in the raid, then try to attribute absorb amounts every time a shield is beaten on by comparing the amounts absorbed to the list of absorb spells that has been cast. Its not pretty :)

In any case, it happens rarely in the grand scheme of things, and I'll be just gutting the min/max tooltips in a future version, as they just don't provide accurate and/or useful information.
