Skada Damage Meter
Skada is a modular damage meter for World of Warcraft with various viewing modes, segmented fights, and customizable windows. It is designed for efficiency with minimal memory and CPU impact.
"Skada" is Swedish for "Damage".
Midnight Edition (WoW 12.0+)
This version of Skada is updated for World of Warcraft: Midnight and uses Blizzard's new session-based combat systems.

Usage
Getting Started
A default window is created upon first load. Access the configuration menu by clicking the cog icon on the window title bar or via the minimap button. Select Configure to access settings.
Multiple Windows
Skada supports multiple windows. Create new ones under the Windows section of the configuration panel. Windows can be:
- Bar: The standard customizable meter.
- Inline: A horizontal line for custom UI setups.
- Data Text: For LDB displays and minimal setups.
Navigation
- Left-Click: View more detailed information.
- Right-Click: Return to the previous view.
- Mousewheel: Scroll through lists.
- Tooltips: Hover over bars to see additional context and shortcut keys (e.g., Shift-click for targets).
Themes
Manage window designs with the built-in Theme Engine. You can import and export themes by using theme strings.
Versions
- Midnight (Default): For WoW 12.0+ using the Native API.
- Classic Version: The version for older WoW releases.

Posted Mar 23, 2016I'm not sure if Skada already does this, or another mod might, but is there a setting in Skada to record/report unnecessary damage taken, i.e., people are standing in the wrong place? The total damage taken could be used to infer this, but it might be nice to have a raid/instance message that called out people for taking more than some % fraction of their health from damage that they should be avoiding?

Posted Feb 13, 2016I'm having an issue with two of my characters, where no matter where I put the dmg meter as soon as I close the game, they return to being on top of my minimap. All of the other toons, it will stay where it's put. I've removed the saves for those toons in the WTF folder, and it changes nothing. I've copied the profiles from other toons, and it still happens.

Posted Feb 9, 2016When playing my enhance shaman my meter will say I did such and such damage but on everyone elses meter it says its lower then it says on mine. While on my hunter however I dont have this issue. I have updated the addon recently and still same issue. Its not a range issue because even the other melee show me as lower on thiers then it shows on mine. On Xhul there were 3 melee whos damage was higher on my meter but on logs all of them were lower which is why i thought it was a range issue but on Killrogg another melee saidhis meter was the same as the ranged meter showing my damage was lower than mine. Anyone know why and how i can fix this?

Posted Feb 8, 2016Every time I use Skada, the longer it takes to logout my char. As long as waiting about 10~20 seconds to log out. So, I have to delete the file Skada.lua so I can change chars/exit game without the horrible delay.
Is there any way to block Skada from saving that file, or not keep logs at all? It's very irritating having to wait more and more to change characters every time I use Skada...

Posted Jan 23, 2016For some reason my skada meters dont correspond with warcraftlogs. Is there any known problem that could cause this? Any other specific type of addon messing with this or something?

Posted Jan 27, 2016There is no addon that can 100% accurately report what direct log aggregation can. Recount, Skada, TinyDPS, Details, etc will all report something different than direct logs.
Aside from that, there is also another reason the DPS will be off. When WarcraftLogs adds up the damage, the DPS is a direct average, dividing by total encounter time. Addons use different calculations to display DPS, such as Skada and Details using "effective" time. There will always be margins of error concerning combat log capture and display.

Posted Jan 3, 2016I would really like this. I'm rarely anywhere near the top of the meters - but i don't want to have to have a massive damage meter on my screen just so i have a chance of being there.
As far as I can tell, no other meter addon does this. Would love to see this added to Skada :)

Posted Dec 1, 2015I recently switched to Skada from Recount and find Skada works better for me, and was wondering if there is a way to make the title bar button icons larger. I run at high resolutions and the buttons are just a might small for me to click easily. (I'm a little shaky because of medication) Thanks for a get addon.

Posted Oct 25, 2015Although it has the option, how do we send the meters to a friend thru WHISPER, not WHISPER TARGET, since this one may need you to target the person in question, and the other, I presume, you could send even thru realID friends. Didn't find anything about that anywhere.

Posted Oct 22, 2015I've tried using skada instead of recount several times, but as soon as i get into combat and take damge, my game crashes with a fatal exception error. I've tried using no addons but skada and it still happens. Help!

Posted Oct 15, 2015Is it even possible to compare the dps of two players in different windows? It looks like if you have multiple dps or damage windows open and try and drill down in one window , the second window will drill down and show the same information as the first window.
Meaning if two windows are open and both are selected to damage and comparing two say dps of the same class, if you drill down on player A in window #1 but want to also drill down on window #2 to show the same strikes/spells/shots of player #B (for example comparing two frost spec death knight's damage) it will show the results of player #A instead, regardless.
I feel this is a limitation of the data collection and as such not a deal break, just would be very nice to be able to do this if possible.

Posted Oct 13, 2015Shame it doesn't count stuns, not even as interrupts. I interrupted a whole bunch of mobs with Shadowfury but it doesn't count as an interrupt (even though stunning does interrupt) and there is no stun mode.

Posted Oct 11, 2015Hi I am interested in knowing how to REMOVE player names from the Skada Damage bars as well as other bars. I understand this is something that will need to be done in the LUA, can somebody please reply on how to do this? Thanks!
