I started a week ago  to use skada instead of recount and omen. it looks much nicer and seems more user friendly than the other two, uses fewer resources, there is 1 addon instead of 2, uses less screen space.
All was fine but after a while I noticed certain shortcomings:

    1. DPS meter
Skada seems to count dps even for the time one doesnt do damage and has no dots on a mob. eg. if for an encounter i get myself a break and let the rest of the group finish the mob my dps drops down (while when using Recount it does not). I certainly cant say this is wrong, it is a different way of counting the dps, but the way Recount does it seems more meaningful. For Skada: DPS = Total Damage / Time in combat; for Recount: DPS = Total Damage / Time while doing damage. Recount DPS is therefore a different indicator than Total Damage while Skada's DPS is not.

    2. Threat meter.
It works ok but only for the targeted mob I believe. If when dealing with a group of mobs I do single target damage to one of them, then switch target and AoE them all it happens that the fist one damaged gets aggro on me while Skada still shows my threat below tank's. Omen Threat Meter handles this situation correctly (in a more useful way).

    3. Counting (less of a problem but still)
I noticed that Total Damage recorded by Skada differs from the one recorded by Recount. I can't say which one is right I can only notice a difference that can be considerable. The good part is they seem to be proportional so the players are reported in the same order by both addons.

I have to add that the addon is really great. These imperfections will not make me switch back, so thank you for the great work.

You are correct about the DPS. This just seems the way it should be to me. On a raid boss encounter, if you are taking a break to regen mana or wait for your cooldowns to come off, your only-count-while-doing-something DPS would be artifically inflated and much higher than people who are doing what they should actually be doing. Taking this into account would not be hard technically. But it would be entirely artificial, not much different than dividing damage done by the total cast-time of all abilities used. At least in my view.

I am considering adding more options to track threat other than on your target.

Total damage should be the same. I have not used Recount for a long time though, so I can not say what differs, other than the fact that Skada and Recount has different concepts of when a fight starts. Skada takes a simple approach and starts a new segment when you yourself enter combat.
