Mark battle pets as repeatable #262

As it is possible to have up to three of most battle pets, can all the battle pets in rarity be marked as repeatable?

I only ask as I have got 1 Sea Pony recently, and as it is possible to have three of this pet, I was going to get another two as why not :)

But in Rarity the pet is no longer showing in the main tooltip window, I have since marked the pet as repeatable, but it is still not showing in the tooltip.

Would it be at all possible for the battle pets to still show in the tooltip even after I have obtained one? as it is possible to sell some pets on the AH.

If I mark a pet or any other item I own as repeatable it shows in the tooltip again.

Do you hide unavailable pets? General settings -> Tooltip settings

And make sure "Track this" is active for the Sea Pony.

Personally I would suggest the opposite.

Make not repeatable as the default for every pet. Some are marked as repeatable but most aren't.

I would think, most people are like me and just care about the first pet. If I get another one, that's nice. But I don't need to know how many tries I spent to get my 100th pet in Molten Core.

Though the biggest problem I see is the size of the tooltip. It's huge. Especially for people with a small collection or new players.

Yeah if I make a change here, it will definitely be to turn Repeatable off everywhere. I'll leave this open to remind myself.

I did have hide unavailable pets ticked, but the pet was available at the time so shouldn't have been hidden.

Some like to farm the pets, and I personally would like to have 3 of the pets if I am able to have three and any extras I may then stumble upon whilst doing my everyday normal stuff I could sell.

Just an idea after reading this suggestion, but perhaps both could be achieved? Like, so:

    1. Mark all (cageable | "3-of") battle pets as repeatable by default - not sure which would work best. Maybe both?

    2. Add tooltip option: "Always show repeatable (items | battle pets)" - "When on, (items | battle pets) marked as repeatable will be shown after they have been obtained" - could also be the inverse, "Always hide ..."

    3. Enable (or disable, if inversed) this option by default, effectively "turning Repeatable off everywhere" while retaining the option for users to easily show repeatable pets again without having to go through the list and enabling all pets one-by-one

It's a bit more effort and I haven't thought about it in much more detail, but it would allow OP to pursue 3/3 for cageable pets before it stops tracking them quite easily.

One drawback that I can think of is that it would (slightly) change the meaning of the Repeatable check box, at least for battle pets, from "Display this regardless of how many you have obtained already" to "Display this regardless of how many you have obtained already, but only if the tooltip option is enabled". All pets would still be shown if they haven't been obtained before, but repeatable pets would only show afterwards if this option is enabled.

On second thought, maybe a simpler "Always track tradeable/cageable battle pets (or toys etc.)" option would be better. You can use the GetPetInfo* API to determine this without changing the Repeatable check box and OP could simply check the option to continue tracking their battle pets regardless of whether or not Repeatable is checked for them, and wouldn't have to go through all the pets to mark them as Repeatable either. I guess it would kind of override the check box, in a way, which may not be a desirable outcome depending on how you view it.

Those ideas would work great for me, I have already marked all the pets as repeatable however.
