Combat Alert
SCT and Spell Alert SCT wasnt working as good as I wanted it to so I have created an addon to add to the features of SCT. You can create patterns for events that will allow this addon to display a more prominent alert (visual and audible).
This addon is a work in progress and takes a small bit of learning to get it working (read the Readme.txt file first if you want to use this addon - configuring it will take some time).
PS. I recommend running it with all options turned off to minimize lag while in combat (definately dont use this addon for arena matches until its stable - Ill add an arena mode soon which will bypass a lot of filtering to make it usable in heavy combat situations). Also, run '/cal delete known' to clear the collected events table if collecting events is causing lag.

Posted Jun 8, 2007Self praise already ?
Gratz :)
So... screenshots ?
No-one is going to download something that provides a visual alert without being able to see what it looks like...

Posted Aug 16, 2007Ive fixed a bug which made me turn this addon off when I play my druid and couldnt be bothered removing the code which lets me show all self-events so its easy to get it to show most useful alerts if you want (Ill add an ignore list like spell alert sct and implement a fix for spell school silence and shared cooldowns like spell alert sct is supposed to have).
Im not in the mood to do anything else to this addon for now since it is working fine ATM.

Posted Jul 5, 2007Another addition that isnt in the readme or changes is you can filter party and raid buffs/debuffs/etc so if you wanted to use it to display boss debuffs it can be done now - I remove the party/raid player id so 'warn raid Garrote' should show a Moroes garrote alert. :)
NB. I get alerted when shackle fades from another priests target atm so I plan to fix that soon (Ive added some code that shouldnt be needed so I need to recode those parts). :\

Posted Jun 29, 2007This new version (1.3.4) works better but still needs some tweaks to make it more efficient. :)
You can now list a whole table (ie '/cal list show') and delete a whole table (ie '/cal delete known' to delete all collected events). Some events that were unknown before may show as known now ad you can ignore all unknown events (which can speed it up a bit).

Posted Jun 24, 2007A few typos that caused conatainer cooldows errors are now fixed. I copy/pasted the code from another function without renaming variables. My crappy keyboard also caused a few typos with the font table that stopped font outlines from working and theyre fixed too.
Ill work on making it easier to configure now that its got waterfall support. Ill also add the Threat-1.0 library and allow the displaying of threat events that will be handy for any class (ie you can be alerted when the threat target changes) and since I dont know any other addon that does this itll be a unique thing for this one. :)

Posted Jun 22, 2007@pspliff, NPC chat, item/spell casts, aura/buff/debuff changes and item/spell cooldowns. Nothing is shown by default but you can configure all these events to display an alert.
If you install it and use the commands;
/combatalert insert show cooldown Horde Battle Standard
/combatalert insert warn unknown player Banish
/combatalert insert crit fade focus Polymorph
you will be alerted when your battle standard cooldown has finished (if youre Horde), someone starts to banish you (only relevant for tree druids) and when polymorph fades from your focussed player. Many events can be displayed. :)
Enable event collection and you will see all the events that can be configured and check the CombatAlert.lua file thats stored in your WTF folder if you need a faster way to configure events (Ill be adding a nice configuration tool eventually).

Posted Jun 22, 2007Ive added FuBar and Waterfall support, upgraded ParserLib to Parser, added a messages frame, added cooldowns support, added more options, added a new patterns table so you can have alerts without sounds, modified the readme.txt fie to be more understandable and added an icon (the best part IMHO).
