Talented adds spec templates to the Talent UI.

Talented 3

Talented is getting a large update for wow 4. It will no longer replace the default UI but add a new Tab to it, with most of the previous functionality present.

There is an alpha release available on wowace. It's still missing some major parts, but it should give you an idea of the new interface.

Talented_Loader is no longer needed (and in fact will create problems if left installed, so remove it at once).

Update feature List

Create and view templates for all classes and all pet types.
Set a specific template as a target, and see it when you're spending your next talent point on level up.
Apply complete templates with a single click, after a talent wipe.
Hunters can view the spec of their pet and apply templates to them.
Share your current build with other, or any template you've made.
Import templates directly from the Blizzard Talent calculator, wowhead or wowdb.
Export templates as URL to wowhead, wowdb or the Blizzard Talent calculator.
Allow pet templates to be imported from and export to wowhead pet calculator.
Inspection of other characters will also inspect their alternate spec, if they have one.
A macro command /talented apply <template> allows to automatically apply a template based on its name.

This wouldn't be for applying glyphs, it would JUST check that you have the right ones installed, and it would make a lot of sense to have it in Talented.

There is no glyph template as I can't automate the application of glyphs. Talented is about Talents, the Glyph Frame only exists because Talented replace the original talent UI, which includes glyphs.

This will most probably change for Cataclysm.

Great mod so far. I did have one question. Am I able to save a glyph set to a template? I built an Arms PvP spec with the Wowhead calculator, complete with glyphs. I was able to import it into Talented, but it didn't import the glyphs associated with the spec. Does Talented only save talent points to a template, and not both points and glyphs?

Any chance the glyph UI will be integrated at some point? Like say on the right side of the talent trees as a vertical display? I hate having to click an extra button to check glyphs and sometimes it's buggy and stays on my alternate spec.

Chances are very slim on this, as it requires mostly art, which I hate to do.

From what we know about Cataclysm and the UI changes related to it, it's very likely that Blizzard will split the Glyph and Talent information in different panels, in which case Talented will simply use the Blizzard Panel for Glyphs.

I have been using Talented for a while and got a recent problem. I cant import talents from wowhead anymore. Getting "Talented: "http://www.wowhead.com/talent#jfVMVZZfMbI0cdg0ux0uIqo" does not appear to be a valid URL!"

You may try the alpha, available at wowace, which should fix this issue. I'll push it to release once I've made sure it's working correctly.

wowhead have changed the url from http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#xxxx to http://www.wowhead.com/talent#xxxx.

They have simply removed a ? from the url so either add a ? before talent# in the url when you paste it in or edit wowhed.lua in the addon folder to replace all ?talent# with just talent# this is lines 31, 40 and 44.

Feature Request: Is there a way to do planning for glyphs? I was thinking a pull out list that greys-out when you add the glyph you want. Maybe have it be one color for planned but not yet the level needed and then when you reach that level there can be a blurb in the chat box: Glyph of "Whatever" is now available. That way a player can just grab a low level glyph right away and when they come of level go switch it out if needed.

Great Addon By the way comes in handy with keeping future/raid/pvp specs right there to use when needed. Was wondering, if i saved the talented folder or even better the whole WoW folder to and extended for backup(which i have) does thsi save all my my talented specs and settings???????, as my friend said when he put my copy on his PC he had to configure addons again etc. Cheers

The important file to keep all your saved templates is <wow install>\WTF\<accountname>\SavedVariables\Talented.lua (Not quite sure of the path, it's something like this).

You would need to make a backup of this file and copy it in the same folder on your new wow installation to get all your templates back.

Hi Jerry. I'm a big fan of your work, but I can't use talented atm since it crashes my game. More detailed : When I'm in a fight where duplicates of the party spawns, eg. last boss in Old Kingdom, or the mob in Halls of reflection before the Escape event. I get one of those red crosses with a message telling me that WoW requested way too much memory, more specifically Talented. It might be because I'm using TinyTip which shows talent info i don't know, but something goes wrong when it sees a copy of a party member with a hostile tag :)

I dig the concept but as a feature request, can u make the confirm talent more like blizzard default where u confirm after inputting all unspent pts rather than after each point? Also, after all points are spent graying out what can't be used. And I'm not sure if I missed it but there didn't seem to be anything in the tooltip that informs u how many pts are required in each tree to activate certain talent. I like the basis of this addon but wish that it's basic functions resembled blizzard's.

If you have to confirm twice, then you're using this addon incorrectly.

Create a template then apply it to your spec.

Okay, you can do this, using "Copy template", then editing, then "Apply template", then switch back to it and "Delete template", but that's awfully cumbersome if you just have a small handful of points to spend. You're better off just confirming two or three times, even if that's the "wrong" way to do it.

What would be really nice is if, when you hit "Edit talents", it basically created a temporary template automatically, and then deleted it automatically after you apply it. That would avoid both all the extra "confirm" buttons and all the extra clicking of creating and deleting a temporary template.

Under what circumstance do you have two or three talent points to allocate ? Either you have one per level, or all when resetting.

i don't really have the aforementioned problem nor do i consider it a problem, but i did have multiple talent points to spend in the DK starting area after turning in a quest or two. once turned in like three quests right after each other and ended up with like 8? or so talent points very quickly.

DKs get 2 or more at a time. Also, we don't always remember to spend talents after each level, thus leaving us with more than one point to play with. :)

Switching specs makes the default experience bar and what looks like the default vehicle bar (3 blank buttons) appear. I am using Dominos for my buttons which hides those by default. This only occurs with Talented enabled.
