Misspelled - Chat Spellchecker

Misspelled is a chat spell-checker addon. Misspelled watches the chat messages you type, highlighting any misspellings and offering suggestions for any misspelled words it finds.

I've included in the US & UK English dictionaries some Warcraft specific proper nouns, including the zone names, and all dungeon and raid boss names. Your friends and guild members are also automatically added, and shouldn't get flagged as misspelled words..Misspelled utilizes the HunSpell style, affix (prefix/suffix) compressed dictionaries. The same ones used in Chrome, Firefox, and OpenOffice. Misspelled provides suggestions based on words that phonetically sound like the misspelled word, along with providing suggestions based on common mistakes of spelling. While Misspelled can detect nearly the same number of individually correctly spelled words as OpenOffice, it's suggestion engine, is "somewhat" less complicated, than the HunSpell implementation.

Misspelled includes dictionaries for US-English, UK-English, French, German, Italian, Russian (experimental), and Spanish. The appropriate dictionary, for your game client locale, will auto-load, or you can manually choose what dictionary to use from Misspelled's Interface/Addons options page.

Misspelled works with WIM (Wow Instant Messenger), and is compatible with: Prat, Skinner, and Chatter.

Usage note: Spell Checking is performed as you complete each word you've typed. The last word in the chat box, isn't spell checked until you type some form of word terminator, either a period, space, or some other word separating punctuation. Spell checking is very fast; but isn't performed needlessly, while a word is being typed.

Misspelled is compatible with Wow, Wow Classic/Wrath/Cata If you are having problems with Misspelled, please try updating or disabling all other chat addons you may be running.

Sounds like you could use a bit more memory on your system. Regardless, try this: First delete the dictionary files, you don't need. They are located in the \Interface\Addons\Misspelled\Dict folder. Next open the file: "Misspelled.toc", and delete the lines corresponding to the dictionary files, you deleted.

4GB of ram. 10GB pagefile.

Without Misspelled, I sit at 120 to 210MB of addon memory.

I'll try the deleting non-needed dictionaries though.

I'm showing Misspelled taking up just under 6mb of addon memory, not that significant. Hover over the Game Menu, what does it list as your top addons, memory wise?

Either there was a fluke some where else, or doing what you said helped a lot.

Odd though, when I checked, Misspelled was using 8MB (which is like, 4th biggest behind Zygor [at a whopping 47MB... have to look into that], Auctioneer scan data at 18 and recount [after a raid with a lot of time data])

I love the idea of this addon... but the size kills me.

I run so many other addons that the extra memory from this one srsly kills me.

48 seconds to load my UI with out... 120 seconds with.
ReloadUI taking 3 minutes sometimes with it. :(

I know there either isn't anything, or isn't much you can do about it, but, just venting...

I really like this addon. Nice and useful how ever would it be too much to ask for you to be able to include boss names? A lot of the new ones can be really confussing. Cheers :)

Many, many are included; but I'll pull a fresh list and make sure all are included in the US-English dictionary. I also need to add the possessive suffix ['s] to most of them.

I continue to check compatibility with the PTR, before each major patch, and watch forums for any reported problems or incompatibilities with other chat addons. Currently I don't have any new features or bugs on my development list. I'll bump the version number, so the package includes the latest embedded libraries.

Please send me a message, or make a post, if you have an idea for something new you would like to see implemented.

I love Misspelled, however, it will not allow me to link items I have made with GHI (Gryphonheart Items:http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/ghi.aspx) Is there anyway you can fix this?

I'm guessing you might see this problem if you're running an older version of Misspelled with Wow patch 3.3.5.

I run an addon called Chatter, while it is active I Cannot right click on a mispelled word to select the right spelling, the menu does not appear!

Work's properly when Chatter is disabled.
