Misspelled is a chat spell-checker addon. Misspelled watches the chat messages you type, highlighting any misspellings and offering suggestions for any misspelled words it finds.

I've included in the US & UK English dictionaries some Warcraft specific proper nouns, including the zone names, and all dungeon and raid boss names. Your friends and guild members are also automatically added, and shouldn't get flagged as misspelled words..Misspelled utilizes the HunSpell style, affix (prefix/suffix) compressed dictionaries. The same ones used in Chrome, Firefox, and OpenOffice. Misspelled provides suggestions based on words that phonetically sound like the misspelled word, along with providing suggestions based on common mistakes of spelling. While Misspelled can detect nearly the same number of individually correctly spelled words as OpenOffice, it's suggestion engine, is "somewhat" less complicated, than the HunSpell implementation.

Misspelled includes dictionaries for US-English, UK-English, French, German, Italian, Russian (experimental), and Spanish. The appropriate dictionary, for your game client locale, will auto-load, or you can manually choose what dictionary to use from Misspelled's Interface/Addons options page.

Misspelled works with WIM (Wow Instant Messenger), and is compatible with: Prat, Skinner, and Chatter.

Usage note: Spell Checking is performed as you complete each word you've typed. The last word in the chat box, isn't spell checked until you type some form of word terminator, either a period, space, or some other word separating punctuation. Spell checking is very fast; but isn't performed needlessly, while a word is being typed.

Misspelled is compatible with Wow, Wow Classic/Wrath/Cata If you are having problems with Misspelled, please try updating or disabling all other chat addons you may be running.

I really like this addon. Nice and useful how ever would it be too much to ask for you to be able to include boss names? A lot of the new ones can be really confussing. Cheers :)

Many, many are included; but I'll pull a fresh list and make sure all are included in the US-English dictionary. I also need to add the possessive suffix ['s] to most of them.

I continue to check compatibility with the PTR, before each major patch, and watch forums for any reported problems or incompatibilities with other chat addons. Currently I don't have any new features or bugs on my development list. I'll bump the version number, so the package includes the latest embedded libraries.

Please send me a message, or make a post, if you have an idea for something new you would like to see implemented.

I love Misspelled, however, it will not allow me to link items I have made with GHI (Gryphonheart Items:http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/ghi.aspx) Is there anyway you can fix this?

I'm guessing you might see this problem if you're running an older version of Misspelled with Wow patch 3.3.5.

I run an addon called Chatter, while it is active I Cannot right click on a mispelled word to select the right spelling, the menu does not appear!

Work's properly when Chatter is disabled.

Try the latest Chatter Alpha release. It looks like they fixed the problem. I haven't got to test it myself.

It looks like the developers of Prat are actively working to update their addon for all the changes in patch 3.3.5. Once it looks like they have a stable version, I'll make sure to check compatibility between our two addons.

I'm now having a problem in which I can not right click a word to correct. This problem happened after the update. I tried reloading, re-installing even installing a older version but nothing seems to work.

I'm guessing you have another chat related addon that is causing a conflict.

Can you try disabling all other addons, except Misspelled, and see if the problem goes away.

If you find out what addon is incompatible, please let me know. I may be able to add code to work around the problem.

Release 1.5.03-r51 fixes a problem loading the UK enGB dictionary. Also included the experimental ruRU Russian dictionary, along with changes needed for PTR 3.3.5.

Bug: Single quotation marks ( ' ) are not treated as punctuation, and will cause a word to be misspelled. In other words the text: 'The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog' will show The and dog to be misspelled.
