HandyNotes
Handy Notes for your maps. This addon is intended to be a small and simple framework for showing notes on your map.
Use /handynotes to access options.
You can add notes to the maps in 3 ways:
- Alt-RightClick on the world map to add a note.
- Use "/hnnew" without the quotes to add a note at your current location.
- Use "/hnnew x,y" without the quotes to add a note at location x,y on your current zone's map.
HandyNotes supports plugins that other authors can write to display their own set of notes on the map. See this link for a list of such addons: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/search?search=handynotes
Hi Xinhuan
-Aoedin
how do i get this in wow
Wrong addon. You want the plugin managed by a different mod : http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/handynotes_treasurehunter or http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/handynotes_draenortreasures
Hi Xinhuan
I found a treasure that isn't in the wonderful addon.
It is located on top of that stone formation in Shadowmoon Valley that surround the Anguish Fortress.
It is on the way up to Sneevel. Turn around and face the big stones.
Just mount up and jump on the big stones. Take the left side and in the end you get a chest.

A HandyNotes module for the location of followers would be nice!
I have the exact same question and situation
Depends which handynotes plugin you're using for the notes. E.g. HandyNotes_TreasureHunter does that automatically.
So, I have a question about removing points.
For example, I already got to 100, then installed the addon...
I have killed many things and looted many items already, I want to know how I can remove an object on the map. I think that each item, has an ID, and that you can find out through typing this in the chat (For example) to tell if you have already got an item:
/dump IsQuestFlaggedCompleted116887
how can I get rid of all the things I have already done, from HandyNotes.
Thanks so much
Still getting the "Astrolabe-1.0 instead of Astrolabe-0.4" error - although I updated to the latest version. (Tried both update via Curse client and direct download). Any ideas?
So, any idea how can I get this to work for cave maps? Ideally I'd like to add a rare sighting point like the SilverDragon add-on does in conjunction with this mod, but as it is currently, it fails to distinguish between overland and cavern mob location.
Installed handynotes and Draenor Tresures plug in. Works great on world maps, but nothing shows up on the minimap. Any ideas?
Nevermind, it just started working for some reason... lol
It works okay for me in ElvUI. It's quirky, but it works.
A few things that are buggy for me:
Are these some issues that you're having? Or will it simply not work at all?
I can't seem to get the addon to work together with Elvui, is there something I'm missing or will I have to disable elvui to use this addon?
Hi, is it possible to remove notes on the map?
Edit: Sorry, the ones I add I can remove. The HandyNotes_DraenorTreasures are the troublesome ones. I'll check with them.
I can't seem to get this to work. It may be a conflict with another addon but nothing is showing up for me. Installed both handynotes and handynotes_wod
Does it have a cache that needs to be cleared or no? Thank you!
I just downloaded this addon and it is really good, but i got some problem with the minimap icon; i use minimap button frame and all the time something appears on the minimap it goes in the minimap button frame window, how can i resolve this problem without removing these 2 addons?
Hi... "Ctrl+Shift+LeftDrag to move note" is not working for me, and it won't let me add a note to my location. Other thing, isn't it supposed to be Ctrl+Shift+LMB (Left Mouse Button) to move a note. I see some bugs, and some unnecessary and not very functional options (ex. the size of the markers). Not very polished, but it is integrated in wow in almost every aspects, the markers the interface all fine, but not perfect, 6/ 10. Thanks. A good example is PetTracker.
Is there a HandyNotes plugin for raid and dungeon locations? Can there be?
