GridTooltip

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

"Whats that debuff on that unit? Should I dispell it? Ahh, I wish I could hover over it and find out...sigh, I'll just dispell it..." - BOOM!

This addon adds tooltips for debuffs which are displayed at the center icon indicator.

Addon is currently broken. Looks like Grid made changes such that GridFrame.prototype no longer has an indicators subtable. I also opened up a ticket for the problem on the GridTooltip development site.

Seems like "Soon" actually meant even longer than I thought but I think I finally fixed it.

Please make it compatible with http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/gridindicatoriconbar.aspx.
Perhaps let us choose which icon # to tooltip? or a priority list?

Just to let you know: I did read your suggestion and I recognize the problem but at the moment GridTooltip uses extremely simple code which makes it very easy to maintain and I'm quite happy about that so I have to think really hard about every new feature I might add. I'm not sure yet if I can support your suggestion without making the addon multiple times more complicated.

Btw.: For the same reason the "Cached" tooltip displayed since v0.5 looks as as it looks. I know it's ugly and way harder to read but everything else would make the whole addon at least 10 times more complicated (I mean it, no exaggeration).

The point is, I try to keep this addon simple and therefore as long as I don't find a simple solution for new features I probably won't add them. That does not mean that I think they weren't important.

There is not much to screenshot. If there is a debuff shown at the center icon indicator it just changes the units tooltip to the tooltip for that debuff. Nothing fancy :-)

I think you left some debug code in r3. Everytime I mouseover a grid frame my chat window says.
