I don't get this: Kagaro updated Gathermate_sharing just 2 days ago, yet can't drop by to say SOMETHING ...!!!

As I mentioned, I'd gladly help how I can to help populate a DB ......

For everyone who uses GatherMate2_Data.

For now you just can change the toc version to " ## Interface: 70000 "

When you use GatherMate on a regular base or each day, than your data will be up to date after each time you gather stuff. ;)

btw. You can (regularly) send your up-to-date data to the project site, that way the database can be updated and stays updated.

(perhaps a better and easier option is to make a github vault?)

With no effort and/or input from the community itself, updates will take a long(er) time to come available.

The data used in GatherMate2_Data is pulled from Wowhead, so the best way for everyone to help is to install the Wowhead Client and let that gather info and data while you play the game, just remember to upload all that info to Wowhead on a regular basis. ;)

GatherMate2_Data used to be updated very regularly, not sure anyone (other than Kagaro) knows why the updates stopped. Hopefully Kagaro will resume the updates soon.

Yes but the ## is not part of the code , more like the notes. I can't get Legion Data to load at all, it saves my stuff but will not import any data at all. Can you upload a gathermate2data file that has all legion nodes so we can use it?

Wowhead is one of the sources of the data, however they still haven't published the mining and herblism objects for some reason.
The community can still take the data from their WTF folders, repackage it into the Gathermate2_Data files and share those however.
Looking into doing exactly that today.

I am new to Gathermate2.  How do i do a database cleanup it says for this to work?

I would like to see an update to the data pack as well, although you may be waiting for us to provide them as we discover them (I think that's how the model works).  Gathermate has been very useful over time and I hope to keep using it!

Care to share your C# code on GitHub or similar so others can compile/improve and update their databases on a more regular basis?

Holy geez, update your junk or remove it please. I've spent more time in Felwood getting nodes that aren't in this database than I have picking herbs that are.

There's really no need to come in to the comments just to be a rude git about it. These AddOn Authors don't get payed besides the likely VERY rare donation. They aren't required to do ANYTHING. So take your self-entitled crap and attitude somewhere else.

No , I disagree. Whats the excuse to the people who have donated, nothing I bet there's no difference in treatment.

Now I'd rather burn a $10 note to ashes infront of my face then donate it. At least it wont turn around and bite me in the ass 2 weeks later.

...hmmm...you're quite correct about people who are donating to this add-on without it being updated, although I have to wonder how many people have donated since the last update on 12/13/15.  I think Katsu has a point as well.  Yes, I'd like to see an update, but let's be honest; the vast majority of us are using this for free.  In either case, being rude is even less encouraging than no donations at all.

A donation doesn't mean lifetime support. It's normally little more than a tip from people who have used the add-on for a while and wanted to thank the author. Normally the majority of people that come in her and complain never give a cent and cry like little punks when the authors does't drop everything to update a mod.

Zero reason to be rude. Mod doesn't do what you want? Uninstall it and move on!

There is no contract between you and the developer because the three [principal (necessary)] elements of a contract are not satisfied.  There is no offer, consideration (remuneration), nor acceptance.  If you DONATE, you offer gratuity; that is, you extend your appreciation.

Finally, the only self-righteousness on display, Floppyjo, originates from you.

I'm sorry you (and others so thoroughly annoyed) are filled with angst and a lack of understanding surrounding "data availability" and the "data maturity" process.

There is nothing compelling anyone to use any ADDON.

For others with constitutional lack of gratitude... don't donate -- EVER -- you harm yourself and others with your clinging, grasping, attachment, and delusional expectations.

However, if you appreciate the actions of others -- by all means -- demonstrate that appreciation liberally.

You keep using this word "donation."  I do not think it means what you think it does.

IMHO Katsutomai is 100% right.

Most if not all addon makers / authors do it because they like the game and want others to enjoy it to.

You do know that making donations doesn't give you more rights than others, do you?  Only if you did buy the addon from the makers and support for it, than yes you would indeed have the right to complain.

These guys accept donations so they can test the addons more and/or better, they also have to pay bills. Like internet and account. While you are in the pub or hanging in front of your tv or running away for the cops, they are sitting at their pc trying to write addons that enhance their and our gaming sensation / fun.

a donation is also a way of saying thank you for this great program etc etc.

Last Gathermate2 only shows current stuff, that it sees on the map, in range.

In the database (Gathermate2_data) all the nodes you find will be stored there, but people (including you) still have to send the data to the makers and share it with others.

That way the database will be updated faster, more correct and stay up to date and thus you will see the correct data on the right locations on the maps.

So building the database is their job, Filling the database is our job (= the users of it).

When someone finds ore or flowers that's not in the database it will show up on your map the next time you open it on that char, but also on your other chars.

But when you don't upload it to the community database, when you download the new database, the same flowers or ore won't show up anymore.... until you farm them again. 

But when you did upload it... than, with the next update of gathermate2_data, it will show up for everybody (!) who uses the latest version.

Do you understand now how this works?

And do what you want with your $10 bills, I don't care, not even if you used $100 bills to wipe your a*s with.  :P
