What is the enhancement in mind? How should it look and feel?

I was thinking about this last night while farming 900 Fel Iron Ore and 300 Cobalt Ore :

I think it would be a nice and helpful feature if you could make it so that when we fly over a node (mining for this example) that you can have it so that if the node is empty and there is no ore there that you can have GatherMater remove the ore icon from the map including the tracking ring.

This way as we circle the map looking for our nodes we can see any remaining nodes we have not yet flown over so we can be sure we hit every possible location and see what we missed.  When we are done we can click a button on the World Map to reset the map to show all nodes again.

Not possible, no way for an addon to detect the blizz blip for a node.

Hi, I wasn't referring to the Blizzard yellow dot, I was referring to you hiding the red target ring or Gathermates image for the different ores.

Sorry, I also meant to further clarify that I was referring to you having the icons and tracker rings removed AFTER we flew over it, so when we are circling around a second time or something it no longer appears and all we see are the places we haven't yet been to.

and for how long? after a pass of say sholozar it takes me 3 minutes to run the zone and by time ig et back to start ndoes are respawning.

The original idea was that for those of us who like to hit every node this would work. We start circling a zone like Sholazar and as we pass the nodes indicated by Gathermate as we pass over it if the node was empty it would "cross that off the list" by removing the red tracking circle and Gathermates icon for that ore type. Then we start hitting the nodes everywhere in the middle. After all the Gathermate icons are gone, we know we hit them all and in my original post is where I said that at that point we could hit a reset button to make everything appear again as normal. Rinse repeat for each time we cover a zone. Of course we can hit the reset button anytime we want.

I think it's quite common that many people just circle the outside edges of a zone and not often travel inwards to hit the middle nodes. So by crossing them off the list so to speak we can be sure we hit everything at least once.

Sounds like you are not too crazy about this =) That's fine, it was just an idea. My thought was based on mobs in other games I played. The ones that were rarely visited often had higher exp that those who were on "farm" every time they respawned they weren't worth their full potential in experience. So, in relation to gathering for example - the nodes that aren't visited often (center of zone for example) most likely have ore/herb waiting to be gathered because they aren't visited much. This way, crossing them off the list we can be sure we hit everything, like crossing off a to-do list.

Oh well, it was just an idea. Any chance you may comment on the other posts/suggestions I made?
