FuBar_GearFu

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

FuBar_GearFu is a FuBar plugin aimed to make Gear switching with the new Blizzard Gear Manager easier. Just hover over the icon, pick a set, and it will be equipped. As simple as that? yes, as simple as it should be!

The "See tickets" link isn't working, but this appears to stomp on Recount. As soon as this is loaded, Recount fails. Any chance of investigating?

Since 3.3 this addon has been giving me a lot of Lua errors and actually caused all of Fubar to crash until I disabled it. This is an incredibly helpful addon! I hope you're able to update it.

They are under Options > General, in the FuBar tab. Can you see the tab at all? or is it missing for you ? (also, please open a ticket if you could. Easier to keep track of :))

Positioning works for me, as well as hiding the addon name in the bar. Great work, hope you have time to keep this going, and thank you for taking my considerations and implementing them!

I downloaded the version you posted on 5/27/09. While it does work to switch my gear, I am unable to access the fubar positioning options.

As per request I've added the fubar positioning (and some other) options. Unfortunately I havent't been able to contact ckknight about LibFuBarPlugin, so I decided to just do it manually (meh).

Have fun with it :)

what exactly do you mean by "standard FuBar dropdown menu", as far as I can tell, few addons currently use it (sadly). I think it's the waterfall style, perhaps I can add it via the DewdropLib, but I'm not sure.

The possibility to change position disappeared with the switch from LibRock to Ace3, aswell as the whole profile section. I'm planning to re-add that soon though.

Yes, I meant the waterfall style drop, but the only reason why it was important to me was the ability to change position. I don't know enough about the libraries used, so I wasn't sure if it was possible for me just to modify it.

well, the annoying thing is that LibFuBarPlugin-3.0, which I use has support for multiple frameworks. Mainly for LibRock and Ace3. Of course, this is a good thing! However, apparently the option where to place the thing (along with if the header text should be multicolored, tooltip detached, etc.) is only defined for Rock-config, and not Ace3-config (huh?). I have no idea why, I guess it was just forgotten;

Now, I have 2 ways of fixing this:
1. Manually add those options from GearFu directly, or
2. Modify LibFuBarPlugin-3.0 to make it work equally well with Ace3 as with LibRock.

Obviously, I would prefer option #2, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do so (I'm trying to contact ckknight about it, who is the author of that library). If that doesn't work out, I'll go for option 1. Anyway, you can expect that soon.

for now though, you can set it in 2 ways:
1. edit the FuBar config directly:
go to WTF\Account\<username>\SavedVariables\FuBar.lua
now scroll down till you see 3 lists (right, center and left). Now cut and paste "GearFu - Equipment Manager ++", -- [<some number>] from the left list to the right list. (or center if you want). OR
2. You can edit the GearFu code (Interface\AddOns\fubar_gearfu\GearFu.lua
Just under the line GearFu:SetFuBarOption('configType', 'AceConfigDialog-3.0'); add a line GearFu:SetFuBarOption('defaultPosition', "RIGHT") (or "CENTER" for center obviously)

Changed the FuBar.lua as you suggested, worked out beautifully. One other thing I thought of, and this is of course at your discretion, but it would be awesome to be only able to see the Gear set name, and have the ability to hide the actual addon name on the bar (GearFu). Once again, wonderful addon, but it might be a good thing for people with less space.

Great addon, just one thing-

Would it be possible to change right click to the standard FuBar drop down menu? I'd also love the possibility to change the position, Left kinda breaks my UI and I can't for the life of me figure out how to change that in the LUA.
