Farmhand
Description
Farmhand adds dynamic buttons on the screen while you are at Sunsong Ranch.
The buttons allow quick access to the Plow, Shovel, Bug Spray and Watering Can if they are in your inventory. If you do not have a given item, there will be no button for it. Also adds buttons for seeds that are in your inventory. You can even sell unwanted seeds at a vendor without having to open your bags.
When you leave Halfhill, any tools remaining in your inventory will be dropped. You can pick them up again at the farm. (You can disable this feature.)
A special Crop Scanner tool will let you quickly find any plants you've overlooked that need special attention. (Very hand for the hard-to see Smothered and Runty plants.)
To move the buttons, hold SHIFT and drag a button with the left mouse button.
In the Interface Options panel, you can turn on/off tool dropping, turn on/off chat messages and sounds, turn on/off the portal shard buttons and control whether Farmhand automatically hides itself during combat.
I recommend using Masque (optional) to make your buttons pretty.
Localization
Farmhand has translations for all game-supported locales, but if you see a bad translation please visit the localization page and correct it. Then let me know so I can repackage the addon to pick up the changes.
Thanks to all the translators!

I'm adding support for the Unstable Portal Shard, which is the name of the "seed" as well as the name of the "crop" after you "plant" it. I'm also adding an optional row of icons which will hold the resulting city portal shards.
Translators: That means there are new strings. Sorry!
Is it possible to have an option to disable the chat spam/raid warnings? Clicking the Crop Scanner floods my chat window and all the raid warnings splashing on my screen. Also maybe a sound file to play when all the "crops are looking good".
The raid markers are the main thing that you need to see, but to me... having raid warnings and chat warnings going off is a little much. It makes it all seem too busy and takes away from what you are actually doing and the simplicity of the addon.
-Thanks
I can add a "Quiet" option, sure. I kind of like the output. It makes it feel more like the addon is doing something.
Oh jeeez, this so cool! /runsfortesting
I had been working on a way to eliminate the need for multiple clicks for French and other noun-adjective languages. I succeeded in doing so and that opened the door to doing much more with the scanner including marking multiple targets at once.
Version 1.10 will put an icon on up to 8 different plants with one click. Please note that the scanner still relies on targeting macros and as such can still only find one of any given crop, that being the closest to your character. That's not so bad when you consider that the target icons are also limited in that you can only have one NPC at a time with a given icon. That means if you have 8 crops with all different statuses, you'll see all 8 icons.
Here are the icon assignments:
Because Wiggling and Occupied mean Virmen and all Virmen must die!
Translators: Some of the localized strings have changed. I've done my best to update them with the help of Wowhead and Google Translate. Please review them and feel free to update them if necessary.
Please split macro by types and mark vegetables by different marks:
PS: and add Bursting in case someone miss them.
Why not just click your Sprinkler and Pest Repeller from the beginning? Its a few extra clicks but it will fix multiple crops at once.
Funny you should mention it. See my post above.
Farmhand bars still resetting to center of screen in v1.05
-Thanks
*grumble*
I'm a bit perplexed. I'll take another look. Can you tell me more about what you're doing and what you're seeing?
I'll try...
I have the latest version of the addon. When I come to my farm each day, I obviously have none of the tools on me, and I don't keep extra seeds on me. So I will just have the crop scanner button show up on my screen. It will be in the dead center of my screen. I hold "shift" down and drag it to the top-center of my screen "cause thats where I like it to be". Everything is fine while I am there it stays where I moved it. Through out the day I'll switch toons, maybe even exit the game completely. Granted I do my farm stuff first thing and I don't come back till the next day to harvest. Each day I come back to the farm the Farmhand bar is back in the center of the screen and I manually have to drag it to the top-center again. I have tried to pinpoint why its resetting myself, to help you figure it out. I've switched toons at my farm, exited the game, ect., all the normal things I do during the day. I can't seem to make it fail on purpose. Could it be simply from updating the addon as you release updates? Is that what could be causing the Farmhand bar to reset?
-Thanks... I'll keep testing and let you know if I have more information.
I've made it fail now over and over by simply turning Farmhand addon off and on with no other addons running. I turn Farmhand on and its in the center. I manually drag it to the top-center, turn off Farmhand, turn Farmhand back on again and its back in the center. I leave Farmhand running all the time though and so does my girlfriend, she says her bars reset to the center as well.
I just moved it to the top-center and exited the game completely and logged back in and it was still at the top. You'd think exiting the game would be the same as turning addons off and on, but I guess not. So I am not really sure whats happening with it. Like I said, turning Farmhand off and on causes it to reset, but I have Farmhand running all the time.
Okay this time I am absolutely certain that I think I fixed it. v1.06b
Farmhand bars are staying where moved now, thank you for resolving that. :)
I'm in the farm and the addon do not open.
What version have you installed? Do you see any errors? What is your locale?
@JCinDE
So, I think I got all 130 of them, I'll update the macro if I notice there's any missing.
Congrats on the french by the way :P
Hello,
I am noticing that the Farmhand bar position keeps resetting. I have it moved to the top-center of my screen. I don't know if its from character switching, loging out/exiting game or what. When I come back to the Farm at a different time the Farmhand bars will be back in the default center of my screen and I will have to move them again.
Thanks
Strange. I'll look into it.
It was pointed out by a French player that the macro as written won't work for languages that put the adjective "Runty, Smothered, etc" after the noun. Dang ferners!
Okay translators, so here's the deal. If you can't do a "starts with" type macro like the enUS one, then you need to write a /tar line for every variation of plant and ailment that you want to scan for. Yeah that's a lot of lines and wouldn't work for a normal macro, but the next build of Farmhand will support it. The scanner will detect an overly long macro and split it as necessary to allow it to run in segments. The scanner button will show 1/4 or whatever and you'll need to click it once for each segment. Not as clean and elegant as the enUS version but hey it wasn't my idea to put your words out of order. :P
So one line per plant and ailment like so:
/tar le carrote de runty
/tar le carrote de smuthah
Etc. (Look at me! I learned French!)
Users of the enUS translation and others that put the adjective first shouldn't see any difference in the behavior of the addon.
