Table of Contents

Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:

- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.

Hello kagaro,

thanks for yuor reply. I tested a little more. When i check the 'hide tabs' in the modul chat tabs the copy icon disappears. When i uncheck the 'hide tabs' and recheck the copy chat icon option, everything is fine.

Thanks Karago for the Highlight stuff thus far, but one thing is missing on it, I forget what specific part in the Highlights options (@work) but there is a list of all chat channels where you can set a sound for them, BN chat is missing on that list with customized sounds for that channel. Hope that makes sense

Hi, some sugestion/questions:

-Can chatter hide the popup window of a REALID online/offline ?
-There are a possibility to make REALID notifications include the character name in it?
-Can be a possibility to rename REALID to custom names?
-Because the last version i can't use shift+mousewheel to direct go start/end?

-Can chatter hide the popup window of a REALID online/offline ?

Not in chatter, but you can in interface options --> game tab --> battle.net --> online friends/offline friends and anything else you want to see or not see.

can add this function ?
i find a lot of UI for chat
but i can't find this kind of function,so can help add this function to chatter ?

radighoul if you really want to hide the tab gloe then on load do CHAT_FRAME_TAB_ALERTING_NOMOUSE_ALPHA = 0

Is there an easy way to disable the glowing highlight on a hidden chat tab that has activity?

I use fane and only want to see the text name bolded as per that addon. That function works great however I still have that annoying flashing whenever I receive a whisper, often from boss mods that I don't need to be alerted to.

Hi,

i have a problem with the copy chat icon. When enabled i can move the mouse over it an 2-3sec later it disapears. I must recheck the option to bring it back. Then the same behavior, after 2-3sec it disapears.

Is there a way to turn off the blinking of the tabs when whispers come in ? I've got 2 windows where the whispers are set for and 1 of them is the standard window I'm always in. And I don't want the other 1 blinking every time a whisper comes in.

2: in chatter options, automatic whisper windows, disable it there and whispers will just appear as inline text as it used to do before 3.3.5.

4 updates in as just as many days! More than I can say for most addons on this site! Good work there! Anyway, only two issues:

1: Will not save the location. I have alot of ALTS and it gets annoying having to set the window location for each one everytime I login!

2: Anyway to turn off those freaking annoying PINK whisper windows? When you got ALOT of people whispering you, Its insanely painful to have to close EVERYONE. I dont like that feature and wish it to be turned off!

Hello,

Just have one question. Now from what I can see we can resize the chat frame. I see the option for Tiny Chat. But where or how can you resize?

unlock the chat frame, then you should be able resize from the lower right corner

About that resize thingy in the lower right corner. It's overlapping with the text in the window. Could it be made invisible when the mouse is not over the chat window (just like the copy chat icon did pre-3.3.5)? Simple problem, simple solution.

For those having problems clicking on toon names or item links, right click on the chat tab and hit the "make interactive" option. I was having the same issue and this fixed it for me.

yeah just need to fix the fnt hook, so it only ran once as new media was applied.
