Chatter
Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:
- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel
look here please http://www.wowinterface.com/forums/showthread.php?p=196138#post196138, im tired to repeat some obliouvus problems in all forums hehe
Lusitan: which loading time do you mean? from loading into the world, or typing, etc..
EDIT: found the cause and added a fix.
Checking what was actually written saves you the embarrassment of posting a useless, presumptuous comment.
Can't see my whispers unless i go to the seperate chat window for the person i am whispering.
Checking the actual settings gets you far.
the loading times with v.1.2.6-9-gbe307a2 , are insanely high
Reverting to v.1.2.6-7-g2127a58 fixes it
Sayntavarice: I drycoded it in, but cant login to test.
1. The option to shorten trade channel names is checked on in each case, but yet the default channel names still persist. I.E. trade shows as [2. Trade] instead of [2] and so on for the others like [Dungeon Guide] instead of [DG].
2. The timestamp option seems to not work. I have all the boxes checked and it still doesn't work. Doing so before setting Blizz's timestamp option and still nothing. Be it as there is an option from Blizz now I like Chatter's better since it timestamps everytjing, not like the Blizz default that only stamps text and not logins and such.
3. Hide chat tabs does work, but only until you get a Real ID whisper or you mouse over a window for an extended amount of time.
4. When I go to link a profession with WIM enabled it double posts my profession link and opens up the edit box for chat at the default 'say' channel.
Highlights module, add BN whispers? So custom sound for incoming BN tells, if possible.
I do have a few issues:
1. Real ID conversations do NOT post to the frame they are supposed to, keeps posting into the general frame.
2. I use the free-floating, Locked setting for my edit box, and there is a glitch showing the /say editbox, even when the box shouldnt be open.
3. The hide chat tabs function does not work..upon reload, the tabs reappear.
Again ty for your support, and any fixes would be greatly appreciated.
1. The chat highlighting feature that makes keywords cause popups in my SCT addons is very nice, but I can't figure out how to get it to work with trade chat. The options window says to add keywords for specified channels, but I can't actually specify a channel. I add keywords, but they only trigger in other channels, such as Guild Chat, but not Trade Chat.
2. Changing the speed of mouse scrolling does not affect the speed of mouse scrolling any more in 3.3.5.
TY for a great addon!
Once all the 3.3.5 bugs are worked out, the updates will slow back down.
That's a pitty...
I modified the necessary lines in the CopyChat.lua and Buttons.lua files to fit my needs but the fast update cycle of chatter will probably stop me from doing it *g*
Highend ... no there isnt
There use to be a mod call ChatAlert. What it did was you could set it for whisper (or what ever chat) and when you got a whisper it would put it up on the screen as a raid warning and it would play a sound. The flash on the screen was very nice. Thank you for a very nice mod

Is there a way to increase the size of the copy chat and the scroll button? If you hover over the copy text button the size increases and iirc that was the original size of them (although it's been quite some time since they had that size as their standard).
Tia, Highend
PERFECT! Thanks!
Saberos: fixed.
